This was a late Birthday treat for me - food at Bella Italia with my three daughters, courtesy of Tesco Clubcard vouchers! We were eating here first and then on to Vue for Willy Wonka. On arrival, I showed the lady taking our booking the details of my Birthday main meal for free deal, but checked whether I could also use my Tesco vouchers. She said normally you can’t combine deals, but they would make it happen. It was very quiet on the night 18th December- but we had a lovely booth allocated to us. It was warm and welcoming. We chose to order via the lady waiting ( who was also the lady that checked us in!) - it was easier, as one of my daughters is a vegetarian. We’re also one of those annoying families that are a bit picky, so: ‘can I have X instead of Y’, ‘Can I have the spaghetti without any sauce?’ (!)- we ordered lots of starters to share with individual plates. They had most things on the menu and we were pre-warned about unavailable dishes. The lady read our complicated order back to us and had it dead right. We were having starters and mains. There was a longer than usual wait for the food to turn up- but it was clear they were short- staffed, so it couldn’t be helped. When the food turned up, it was so hot and delicious - well worth the wait!Rather than wait for the bill, I approached the till to pay. The gentleman there couldn’t have been more helpful. He made sure I got the best deal. We had such a lovely meal, no rush and a bonus that most of it was covered by Tesco vouchers. I made sure I gave a good tip- in gratitude. It was worth it just to see their faces lighting up.We were in plenty of time for Wonka!

My meal started well, a nice glass of white wine anda lovely bruschetta with mozzarella, basil and fresh tomato- really light and fresh. But my husband had olives, they were dry and tasteless. The restaurant then got quite busy and not enough staff. My husband had ordered the Carbonara, it looked nice but not much pancetta in it and then fairly tasteless, and needed more seasoning. I had the sea bass dish, it was so dry as an overall dish, no sauce at all, just a piece of fish on top of potatoes, beans, onion and some other veg. I enjoyed the bits of onion as it actually gave it some flavour. We then ordered desserts, the tiramisu was very good so we shared it, as the passion fruit and raspberry semifreddo wasn't great either. I usually read reviews before I go places but as we had Tesco vouchers I didn't, now wishing I had and gone to pizza express instead.

Waited over an hour for food to come.had to send one back as cold, the others were just edible apart from the carbonara which was tasteless and cold. The waitress was stressed poor girl but was not her fault. We were not charged for one meal as inedible. Will not be returning to Bella Italia

Food was great, and staff were friendly and polite. Not too busy which was quite nice. I know they were understaffed so service was slightly slow BUT not unacceptable, was good to have a relaxed evening with my wife. Food was good as alwaysParking: Does have a time restriction of a few house

Booked a table to l eat for new years. Arrived and have to wait 25 minutes to be seated because they can’t run bookings correctly. Then staff made it out as though it wasn’t their problem and it was a regular thing. The food was nice but took an hour to arrive, no one came over to see if we needed more drinks (we did.) and when asking for our bill they stood around chatting for 10 minutes before they presented it. Won’t eat here again and wouldn’t recommend as the staff have no customer service skills, Are fairly rude and inefficient at their jobs.

Attended for lunch with my husband and kids today, met at the door by a man he said it was going to be a 40 minute wait for food which we said was okay, but gathering by the amount of people in the restaurant this made no sense maybe 5 other tables with people seated the rest of the restaurant completely empty. He then asked if there was any allergies I said yes a milk allergy his words were (oh it’s going to take even longer then because we now have to clean the whole kitchen) fair enough we said ok, I work in hospitality and by saying something like that only makes the customer feel like they are being penalised for having an allergy!! I was very annoyed at that comment!Food was actually really nice which I didn’t expect after the first encounter with that staff member.A waitress and another lady where working I’m assuming one a manager, both lovely and attentive just a little bit slow to come to the table at first.Don’t think ill return no matter how good the food was due to the male member of staff at the front desk making us feel completely unwelcome

Honestly. The pizza looked no different to a frozen supermarket version, tasted like it also. The bruschetta starter would have been good if I had some bruschetta with my tomatoes. All this for £40. Honestly, will never go to another Bella italia. I can’t believe how poor it really was.

This has got to be the worse meal we have ever had it was disgusting 3hrs in total waiting the service is very poor 1 chef doing everything 2 waitresses just so poor how is this place still open food tasteless, it was cold just awful I definitely will not be returning I stood my ground and paid for our drinks but refused to pay for food we could not eat way over priced for absolute rubbish. Avoid at all cost terrible place

Terrible food. Risotto wasn't even cooked properly. Had to be sent back twice. Pasta dishes tasted as if they were cooked by a university student and the sauce was poured straight out of a jar. Dough balls and pizza were also undercooked. Wouldn't eat here again.Service staff did their best, removing items off the bill. However, you could see other tables not happy with their food. You'd do better saving the money and cooking at home.

Took 30 minutes to take our order, and a further 30 minutes for food to arrive. Food was bland, pasta sauce that was under seasoned, and bbq chicken wings with the palest bbq sauce I've ever seen. Staff were friendly enough but hardly saw them, wasn't exactly busy but service was slow apart from one manager who was multi-tasking like a hero. expensive for poor quality food (£16 for a bland tomato sauce pasta with chicken). Would not return.

Had a lovely meal with my wife and 2 boys ,great service food was great ,boys loved the chicken crunchies ,now they keep asking Dad if we can have this at home, and the meals for the boys was only a pound, that we thought was charged wrong but it’s an offer they have Mondays through to Thursdays ,cheers

Finally made it down after several recommendations, and the praises were well deserved. Food arrived promptly after very friendly service. The quality and portions further exceeded expectations. Very much looking forward to our next visit. Thanks to all involved.

Awful. Chef having to shout to get waitresses to take food. Some food left there for ages. 3 hours to have 2 courses. Manager fixed a flickering light by placing a bin bag over it - still being on. Won't return
