For the money our room was a little old fashioned but ok. Breakfast nice but buffet area not looked after and people waiting queuing and having to ask for reguar top ups - this shouldn't happen in a 5 star hotel - probably more staff needed or a manager to be pro active rather than reactive. Wellness area not opened at 1130am and we were kept waiting and no-one arrived on the Sunday to open it for us which was disappointing - again small details for a 5 star hotel you should need to ask, or if there is a mistake, someone comes immediately. Spa area - not enough beds in pool area / towels not cleared away. Not enough toilets in spa area either - or too many people booked in at once. It was a beautiful sunny day and hot tubs weren't open - instead we went to the Wellness area and those were not open on the Sunday either but should have been as it was past 1130am. Staff generally v nice - but tell you to 'speak to reception' if there is an issue - they should all be one team and offer to contact reception if there is an issue . Overall I wouldn't return as we were disappointed with too many aspects.Rooms: Some need updating

Lovely room the 4 stars are for the lunch and dinner service but the breakfast was a 2 star this is for the food the service was a shambles nothing replenished no pastries or bowls for fruit.Had to keep asking for tea, coffee and toast. Not a 5 star service from a 5 star hotel

I really don't know how to rate this place within the 5 star limitation. The waiters, from top down were....... Excellent! Food, surroundings, atmosphere.... Christmas Spirit..... Top notch. But, the staff, if you were willing to communicate properly, and have some fun, were excellent... All of them.. it was a very tough period for us, but these guys still put a smile on our face and they all joined us for drinks on our last night... Stars, and lovely people... All of them... Happy 24 to all the lovely people there..!! ❤️

Well looked after for an overnight 90th birthday party for all the extended family. Great cream tea and evening meal for us all. Rooms large and well equipped, kettle, coffee machine and mini bar. Lovely spacious grounds and great history with lots inside to explore including hidden rooms.Rooms: Spacious with all the luxury requirements

Overall a luxurious getaway. The modern rooms are fantastic with lovely bathtubs. The spa was great. Food was good too.

Very good hotel, with excellent spa and fitness suite. Just fell short on rooms, which were short on clothes storage, and heating failed on a cold day. Pretty expensive.

Went for Festive Afternoon Tea which was wonderful, delicious and unique.Lost stars for the following simple reasons -Kept waiting for five minutes in restaurant with no service at all.Booked for 1300 did not get food until 1325.Cobwebs in restaurant.Dirty crockery and water jug from orange juice residue. No soap in gents toilets. All of these points are very simple to do and if you want a five star rating and claim to be five star then they're essential. Thanks for the experience but it didn't meet our expectations.

After returning for a second time, the hotel was let down by breakfast & definitely isn't a five star establishment. The young girl taking orders was extremely busy apparently, despite only four small tables being occupied. Nobody appeared to be in charge. We asked for bowels for the first course of cereal & they didn't appear, after 45mins we gave up asking. The second course of eggs Benedict arrived (before we had the first course!), this was tasty but still no drinks or toast which landed about 30mins after we first arrived .We would have got a better service In a budget motel, not a supposed five star!!!On check out we were nearly overcharged again. Luckily I checked every detail this time as caught out after the previous stay. It may only be a few pounds each time but this soon adds up & I expect the hotel doesn't expect their demographic cliental to check all the details of the bill.I'd seriously consider twice before staying again, I work hard for my money & would've expected a quality service....not just on the occasions when they're trying to win prestigious awards!

We were gifted a restaurant voucher by my sister and had a fantastic meal in the Mayflower restaurant. The service and food were faultless. Would love to go back again.

It’s not often that I have no criticisms of an establishment but this is one of those times! Boringdon hall completely wowed us in every way. We had such an amazing time and we are already planning our next trip.Myself and my partner came here for our baby moon as a little treat just the two of us for the last time. From the moment we walked in we could tell that the level of service is high! The staff are very polite and attentive. From the reception to the spa to the restaurants they cannot do enough for you. Very polite and accommodating. We booked a package that included the wellness room, dinner, breakfast and spa access. The room- Our room was absolutely gorgeous! It was in a secluded area of the hotel near to the spa. The new wellness rooms have been finished to a high standard. The bed is large and comfortable and having a little terrace that looked out onto the hills was a great extra. The room includes use of full size luxury Gaia products such we took full advantage of. The bathroom is huge and the addition of books and yoga equipment was very thoughtful. The room was quiet and we got a great nights sleep.Dinner- we had dinner in the mayflower brasserie which is the cheaper of the two options but we were very impressed with the standard of the food. Everything was delicious and surpassed our expectations. The chicken with truffle mash was my favourite. And the smoked duck starter. The service again was amazing.Spa - luxurious and relaxing. The staff are attentive and actively make sure that loungers aren’t reserved so that everyone has a chance to use one. The pool was perfect, we loved the outdoor spa pool. Plenty of saunas and steam rooms to choose from. We were able to order drinks to the pool which was a nice surprise. We didn’t have any treatments but we tested some of the products. The spa want too busy on Sunday but a little more busy Monday evening.Breakfast - we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. The man who took our order (sorry didn’t catch his name but I think he was a supervisor of some sort) was so lovely and friendly. We’re had plenty to eat from the continental table plus our cooked breakfast and sourdough toast. The drink menu was plentiful and varied. This was one of our highlights. All in all an unreal trip and we will be returning for our anniversary!

Boringdon Hall was the perfect location for us -- loved staying in, great launch point for going out. The building itself is exceptional, room was lovely, but the real star at Boringdon is the food.Acleaf was absolutely amazing. Food pairing was perfect and such a nice event for our trip. Wine pairings were also perfect and the service nailed it.Mayflower also had amazing meals that felt almost as special as Acleaf in a more relaxed atmosphere. Included breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious, perfectly managed, and kept us coming back for more!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all wonderful. The grounds are gorgeous. The spa facilities are great, and with complimentary access throughout your stay, you can spend however long you like relaxing between pools and saunas and steam rooms. The women’s changing rooms are well equipped. Apparently the men’s are smaller and less well equipped. The ease of access to the moors is superb, and makes you feel like you’re not right on the edge of civilisation. Our room was spacious and the bed HUGE. My only small complaint was that the room didn’t feel perfectly clean. The bathroom had hairs on the floor, which contributed to a general sense of uncleanness, despite smelling strongly of bleach. This wouldn’t dissuade us from staying again though, as the rest of the experience was fab.Walkability: You could definitely stroll up to the moor from the hotel. We did hop in the car so we could explore more.

Beautifully restored ancient building with tons of history. A variety of rooms - we stayed in one of the new Spa rooms which was excellent. We very much enjoyed the spa and the main restaurant (not the Michelin starred one which we didn't try).Food & drinks: They were happy to cater for coeliacs and vegetarians and I would imagine other allergies.
