Really frustrated, not great at all would give 0 stars if I could. Went into our plymouth branch today and bought some chocolates as a gift for my dad's bday, not the most expensive as money is very tight as I presume it is for alot of people, to then realise (before even leaving the shop) the best before date was only 7 days away! Now I know it's just best before but to pay full price for something that's almost out of its best before date plus knowing 80% of the time people give as gifts is not acceptable. I wanted a refund (again not even left the till when I seen the date) and was told no just a credit note or exchange, I said the dates should be checked but apparently she said they can still sell them at full price up until 6 weeks after their best before date. I am going to be looking into this as I don't agree, if a food item is almost out of date it should be reduced (still wouldn't have wanted it) or a sticker saying its almost out of date. Or at least if your not going to make any note of your food items being almost out of date at least offer the money back! So if you want a gift for someone that's only got a couple days left at it's best before date check this place out! If you want a gift that's not gunna be out of date or before their best before date I'd try somewhere else first. As I say I am going to be looking into this as to weather its correct they are allowed to sell at full price passed their best before date. It just would have been nice the fact I hadn't even left the till to have had my money back on something short of life. Its a gift I don't want to give out of date chocolates as a gift! Please check the dates before you buy.
