We celebrated my daughters 30th birthday here today and it was a party of 23 people and we were looked after by Josh and David and they were excellent and the service we received was brilliant and they were very friendly. Would definetly recommend it to anyone looking at celebrating a special occasion or just going for a meal ?

3 families went here for a 16th birthday meal. Food was awful, the had no chefs apparently, which would explain why the food was so bad. Why they were open with no chefs, also no toilets in the restaurant area is beyond me, everyone had to use the disabled toilet which as you can imagine became disgusting very quickly. The staff were under lots of pressure and did very well considering what they were working with. The food has gone seriously downhill here over the years and I won't be back to find out if it gets better. I have emailed customer services to explain this and haven't had a reply yet, maybe they were off over the Xmas period I don't know.

Had lunch with the Mrs on NY eve. Not busy on arrival and had a slight wait until seated. Seemed a sense of panic amongst the staff, there appeared to be one experienced colleague who was run ragged serving their own area, greeting guests and helping the other colleagues who seemed very new and nervous. No sign of supervisors or management, apart from one who prioritised cleaning cutlery over supporting their staff and tending to guests. The food overall was good, the Mrs enjoyed her steak and the plant burger good, the vegan option garlic bread was bland and the seasoned corn on the cob was also bland. More vegan options would be appreciated, as the only other vegan starter was the soup, which was not available.

Greeted by a very rude member of staff. We were there for my sons birthday, as soon I walked into the restaurant I was told to be respectful of other people eating .When I turned around to see what the children were doing, they were playing a game of chess. The 13 children were not disturbing anybody. I had popped into the restaurant twice before to ensure they were happy to have a table of children they said no a problem and gave me a child’s menu to take away with me. I dropped at pre-order in the restaurant before the meal that day. I wrote an A4 version for the chefs and cards for each child. The staff were struggling to organise the order. There were items missing but didn’t tell me until the food was being served. The food served was good!!!!! Customer service was odd! Strange atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff were demanding to go on their breaks so we could hear. There was eye- rolling and snappiness at me when I was trying to ensure the right food was being served. Not once were we asked if everything was okay. Thank god the children didn’t sense any of this! I stood for the whole meal to ensure not one of the well behaved child made any noise. The two members that served us most of the night did make an effort serving my son his birthday cake. We have been using this restaurant for over twenty years and never have experienced anything like this before.

Staff are friendly but the restaurant and bar is dirty.Plates and glasses left on tables everywhere for the duration of time we were there.Starters took over 40 minutes to co.e and when it did it was inedible and because the poor staff were so understaffed we couldn't find anyone to report the raw, undercooked, cold food too so we just left.

Boxing day roast fell well below expectations. Veg not cooked properly. Puddings tasted like cheap supermarket brands. On a positive note the service was great. Definitely won't be back for Christmas 2024

Booked lunch for a family group of 4.Waited 7 minutes standing in reception area. Shown to a dirty table which was duly cleared cleaned and then waited several minutes for our waitress to appear. It was clear at that point that they were understaffed. Our waitress then told us that the entire festive menu was unavailable as none had arrived on the lorry this morning!Drinks ordered and waited for.... apparently the bar staff were supposed to deliver the drinks but didn't, neither did they tell the waitress this.Food ordered and another wait ensued. More drinks asked for and another long delay.Food arrived and three happy diners, one though was served an overcooked steak which was sent back. Of course, this resulted in three finishing their food by the time the fourth was served an acceptable dish.Dessert was an unremarkable selection and served without incident.Overall an underwhelming occasion. The food was as one would expect (apart from the initial steak) unsurprising. The waiting staff were perfectly pleasant and efficient at their job, but it was obvious that there were too few of them and they were let down by others.

I had Christmas Dinner here, the starter a soup was absolutely divine & some other guests at our table had the prawn cocktail and it was good. So the roast dinner was a real let down unfortunately but our server Judith was amazing, she was happy, helpful & in real good spirits which was good for us!!! Merry Christmas Judith you're doing amazing

Absolutely horrendous service. Arrived without a booking and in hindsight appreciate that this would be a very busy day.Happy to leave and go elsewhere however for some reason the server felt it was very important that I see his computer and how very busy he is. I don't think hospitality is the correct profession for you.

Christmas Day dinner Worst experience ever 15 minutes waiting to be seated , drinks order taken promptly but had to wait 30 minutes , a family member eventually went to the bar where our drinks were sat on a tray ! Starters were disappointing to say the least; 2 mains arrived then 10 min later 2 more & the last at least another 10 minutes after that Desserts were ok but quite a long wait , we didn’t bother waiting for the coffee & mince pies As everything was pre ordered it was a complete shambles I don’t think we will be returning next Christmas

Been here 3 times on Xmas day as a family of 7 and this must of been the worst experience ever. Last year it slacked a little but thought we’d give it another try. Waited a while to be seated, then another 15 mins before anyone came over to ask if we wanted a drink. Starters was about 40 mins after arriving then 25 mins before the main come out and they had left out my daughters food, so by the time that was rectified (having to ask twice) we had all eaten ours. Followed by dessert 35 mins later again after we asked if we could have it now. Not once offered another drink in the whole 2.5 hours we were there. We decided to leave and not wait for the coffee that was included. Then trying to pay the bill was a joke, Sent downstairs to pay then only be sent upstairs again ( took 20 mins waiting about) never again.
