This has always been our, ‘go-to’ Restaurant as it’s local to us and you don’t usually have to book, and until our last visit, has always been good. Unfortunately and I hope I’m proved wrong, but based on our meal when we last visited, I feel the service and food may be slipping a little. Our steaks were very chewy and given the price, we mentioned this to the manager who didn’t seem very interested. The menu has remained the same each time we’ve visited and I would have thought it a good idea to vary it from time to time. We noticed on a couple of occasions that dogs were being allowed in, although thankfully only at one end of the restaurant, and we’re not keen on sharing our dining space with dogs as seems to be the fashion everywhere these days. I just think the restaurant needs a fresh approach to its menu and maybe question their meat supplier, however overall it’s still generally a nice venue.

We enjoyed having dinner at La Campagna - it did the job on a Sunday night when not many restaurants were open. The menu was varied and pretty well executed and the service was spot-on. It was good value too. I'd recommend the baked chicken and mushroom pasta and the salmon starter. The bread to start could have been improved (toasted but cold and not good value at nearly £5 per plate) as could the seafood risotto which had too much saffron in it and was lukewarm.

Great music and service was fine overall. However the food was rather bland and expensive for the area. I ordered a cocktail and was told there was no fresh mint so I asked for a lemonade with elderflower cordial. The lemonade was priced £2.5 on the menu and we were charged £3.50 for a Sprite + £0.50 for the cordial. We had crispy squid to start and it looked like it had been taken out of a frozen food packet. Overall I wouldn’t really recommend and I’m surprised that this place has an average of 4.6 stars at the time of my review.
I ate here with my family last night (for the 2nd time). The bar lady and the waiter were very friendly and helpful. I thought the food was fantastic and I think we all really liked what we had. Really good (generous) food portions and just very delicious! It's an impressive Italian/ British menu.
