I must say I wanted to come to this restaurant ever since I came Bournemouth. This is a hidden gem of Southbourne. I had the best waiting, and culinary experience in my life. The wine pairings are excellent with the current course. The menu changes often. The waiter is highly professional. The chef delivers each course with perfection and adds a touch of his home cuisine into the meals.Highly recommended for the price!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian alternative to each course.

It is a rare thing to experience mastery at this level. The red cabbage course was off the scale good. The waiter and service was pure excellence. The diverse wines were perfectly selected to compliment each course which were works of art in themselves.Roots is amazing. Thank-you for a truly memorable evening.The vegetarian menu was designed to match the meat menu so that friends can experience the same flavours together. Another great night at Restaurant Roots.The overall experience is made very special by a great in-house team.The food was exceptional from presentation to taste. Chef Jan continues to excel in his vast skill set.Beautiful wines and cocktails recommended by Geza with no issues.There are great combinations of food to suit all tastes. The meal finished with the best Cheese Board you will find.We are very lucky to have this fantastic restaurant close to home, but would also travel a good distance to experience it.

A charming little restaurant, they took our coats and kindly offered us a seat. A fine dining experience at an affordable price, and I say this as someone who has frequented several Michelin-starred restaurants. The server has no problem going the extra mile, allowing us to taste additional wines. We opted for the shorter lunch menu, and we were completely satisfied. Various mushroom dishes were presented, with special mention to the amuse-bouche and "mushroom tea" at the beginning of the meal. The bread is divine and a must-try. The chocolate passionfruit dessert is heavenly. There's a great selection of wines, including Tokaji dessert wine, which is always an extra point for me. At the end of the meal, we ordered coffee and received the most delicious homemade madeleine. The server was very kind, attentive, and we had a great conversation. Thank you for the experience.
Amazing!! Food superb, excellent service and great atmosphere in the new private dining room! I asked the roots team if it was possible to make some changes for a private dining experience for a group of friends and they were very accommodating and helpful. We are a group of 8 friends, and tonight we enjoyed a superb meal in the Roots Private dining room. Every course was delicious, and beautifully presented. The beef Wellington, and the Salmon terrine were delicious, the special cheeseboard was incredible, and we greatly appreciated the Prosecco! And all the other courses were super too! We would like to Thank Jan, Stacey and the Roots team for a truly excellent dinner, and a lovely evening. Happy Christmas to you all.?

Best food we have had for a long time. Lunchtime discovery tasting menu was a real treat. Every course was superb. Staff and chef were very passionate about both the service and the food. If you want a sea view, have a walk along coast beforehand as once inside you are only really interested in the amazing food.
