Several of the dishes we tried to order were not available, apparently owing to the 'MerriChef' being out of action. We learned later that this was in fact not a euphomism for a happy Christmas cook, but Greene King corporate jargon for an oven. Luckily the substitute dishes we were able to order (mushroom chilli and macaroni cheese) were of excellent quality for the price. Strangely, there was a bouncer on the door who came up to my waist. Not sure if he was there to stop people coming in or to stop people coming out.

Welcomed really nicely staff where friendly and helpful, food was cooked to perfection. Especially the roast potatoes. We had the steak and two of us had the Christmas dinner we where very full and happy that we spent it at he Richmond and we would definitely recommend and go back next year. Debbie and Family

Went in to watch the football, was happily surprised by the number of screens, allowing you to choose any seat and have a great view! Very welcoming environment, very nicely decorated giving you a feeling of warmth. The staff that served me at the bar were kind and efficient. Special shoutout to the member of staff Aimee, I wasn't sure what to order for food as a vegetarian. She kindly guided me towards getting plant based nuggets; they were delicious!Vegetarian options: Love the plant based nuggets

I’ve been a regular customer at The Richmond, the past 7 years and compared with days of old, the pub has improved enormously. I love the friendly atmosphere, the extremely efficient bar staff and kitchen. I eat out regularly and the food here never disappoints. It’s all good and reflects how much effort Lizzie and her team put in and however busy, the service is always excellent.

The Richmond is my friend’s and I’s regular pub. Lizzy always greets us with a smile and is so welcoming and kind! Killian provides the most tasty food, the burgers are my favourite. 10/10 would recommend!!!!

Come to this pub regularly. All staff are very kind and welcoming. Especially Chloe who always serves with a smile! They play all football and other sports and has a nice chill vibe garden out back. Will carry on coming here as long as I’m in Bournemouth.
