The best ale around, with a constantly changing cellar. Check the boards for what’s on, and they’ll tell you what style / what brewery / if it’s keg or cask / how strong / if it’s vege or GF / and if they sell it by the 1/3rd. If you’re still not sure, you can ask the staff and even get a taster. Honestly, it’s such good beer I think I’ve got really picky since it became our local!! They also have a great range of spirits, Belgium beers, bottled ciders and lots more to choose from. The bar itself has a great atmosphere, totally NOT a chain pub. This is a proper local, with a fantastic group of regulars and a community focus.

The first micro pub in Bournemouth, and still at the top of its game. An ever changing range of real ales, craft beers plus foreign beers too. The ciders on offer are also pretty much the best around. It's in an unassuming setting on a busy road, with a lot more space inside than is at first obvious. General style is comfortable and quirky. Every suburb should have a place like this!

The Firkin Shed is a small micro pub that has a great choice of draught/ bottle beers, ciders, mead, spirits. It doesn't do food as it is too small. It just has snacks. It has three areas inside and two outside. The toilets have toilet paper/air freshener/ electric hand dryers in. It is a cosy place with a good atmosphere. I would definitely go again for a couple of pints with friends.

Atmospheric little boozer that you can't help but not enjoy.Came here to watch The Wilswood Buoys.Cozy set up and really felt part of the music. The atmosphere was great!Freindly bar staff and locals & a great choice of local real ales.Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but if it's anything like the drink and service, you won't go wrong.

A lovely stylish pub, there was a quizz going on which was lovely and interesting, had punters looking for clues around. We'll definitely go back.

Such a shame that it has lost its special atmosphere, what made it unique, just the same as any other pub now with noisy sports on the TV, could have just gone to any pub for the same. Such a shame.

When the pizza oven is on, fab pizzas can be had. My vegan, gluten free was the best! Lovely range of proper beers. Super little pub!

Spent a very pleasant evening here with BCP green party. Pizza from the Pizza Shed was great, and the bar staff very friendly. Great atmosphere - but that might have been the people!
