Well I'd like to give a review for the food but we didn't get that far. We arrived yesterday morning for a breakfast. We were passing through whilst travelling so didn't book. But told there was nothing available and we should of booked. There were a vast amount of tables empty! Gone be the days of just being able to go out and eat somewhere without booking far in advance!

Christmas dinner with a large group in mid-December. The service was excellent, and the food good and plentiful. Find the quality can be a bit hit or miss in these kinds of places, but it was really tasty. They were well organised, too, and service was very smooth. Would definitely come back again!

All good, but fish was mediocre, but the smoked salmon, prawns, cocktail was surperb. Everything else was excellent, and the waitress was fun.Parking: It's just easy to park.

Appalling service from the Duty Manager, Danielle at Smuggler’s Haunt, Ferndown. The food was fine. My complaint regards the defensive, unfriendly and aggressive behaviour of the duty manager Danielle who is, without doubt the most unpleasant, arrogant person I have encountered. When asked about the ‘50% off’ voucher, she responded ‘that doesn’t apply, you should have read our terms and conditions’ in an extremely aggressive manner. When we pointed out that it is misleading to ‘bury’ the limitations of the offer in the small print, she became even more aggressive. “If I had to explain it to you, I’d spend all day explaining it to all the other tables”. Well, you will have no need to explain it to us again, because your disgusting attitude means we’ll never visit your restaurant again.

Small wait to be shown to a seat, then given our menus. Once we ordered, we waited for our meals, I think they were busy for a Tuesday, with the 33% off, maybe a lot were getting the offer. Good meals all round, mains & desserts.

We had the Christmas menu, great value for money and portions are a good size, the cheese fondue, pate and goujons all lovely. I had chicken burger and chips, burger nice , chips undercooked and lukewarm and the coleslaw had too much parsley in it, I couldn’t eat it. The gravy on the roast dinner was very thin, but the roasts potatoes were good. The puddings all yum, cheese and biscuits and the ice cream sundae. The parking is great here, if anyone has walking difficulties, it’s perfect. We had eaten here many times, today wasn’t the best we’ve had . Service was good though.

Awful experience, the steak was poor quality, mushroom was dry and had about 6 chips on the plate not good for the price and the chef does not know how to cook or he was having an off day. Either way I won't be returning, what a shame as the menu and description invites you but does not live up to that when it's on your plate. Saying that, the server was very nice and understanding. I took my daughter to The Smugglers Haunt Beefeater in Ferndown 20/11/23. I confess I was tempted by their 33% discount voucher. We were specifically told by the waitress before ordering that the discount applied to the roast turkey meal. Not only was it the worst roast I had ever experienced, but when the bill came they were unwilling to apply 33% discount as it was considered to be a festive set meal. Could not stay to argue my case as my daughter was struggling with her new baby. The table of four behind us were disputing the exact same problem, so I hope they achieved a result. This was my first and definitely my last time in a Beefeater. I’ve been to the smugglers a few times now and the service has been fantastic along with the food. It takes a lot for me to leave a review and I just wanted to say a big shout out to everyone there. Would recommend definitely recommend it.
