Had a really good experience at this restaurant recently. After having a family meal at other nearby establishments in the past I expected the usual tired and unenthusiastic response from the waiting staff, I was pleasantly surprised by the smiling greeting lady with who welcomed us at the door and then seated us without making us feel rushed. Was served by friendly lady who kindly made some recommendations and who helped us with the pizza express app. We enjoyed the meal which was served quickly. Only thing we could complain about was the temperature of the restaurant which was a bit chilly. Will visit this restaurant again for sure.

Come every month as they do great gluten free pizza, dough balls and deserts. Toppings always plentiful, service quick even when busy, and always with a smile too. Restaurant has had a very nice refit too.

Great service, but pizza toppings were very scarce, more passata than anything, pizzas are not cut, never heard of having to cut a pizza with a knife and fork, won't be returning

Pretty good- fab range is dietary requirements needed (we are vegan and there is loads of options) the whole time we were there there was dirty blue roll and a cleaning spray right behind my sons chair and its things like this which are just a little thoughtless. Can't fault the food tho ?

This is NOT a good restaurant. Astonishingly, when my food arrived (chicken pizza) it was cold. I asked for a new one because I didn’t want chicken reheated. The chef, small man with a beard and very aggressive individual, proceeded to slam oven door, slam fridge door and glare at myself. A few moments later my old Pizza was returned.!! I politely stated that I didn’t want to eat reheated chicken which had been cold to the touch. The chef then started the process of glaring, shouting and was intimidating..!! OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOUR..

I booked a table to celebrate my grand sons birthday. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome. We had decided to just share our meals. The starter was ordered came after some time with just 2 and a bit chicken dippers, Pollo Milanese . Plus they were just warm. We ordered a pizza , a Duo Romana with 2 separate toppings. It took quite some time for the pizza to be delivered , which was just plonked down on the table without any pizza slicers. We had to wait for a waitress to ask for one. The pizza was only just warm and toppings scant, to say the least. I had 4 prawns on my half and 1 slice of mozorella, plus loads of runny tomato sauce. The pizza base was very thin, which is my favourite base. But was soggy and tasteless. The Brownie and ice cream was delicious and the Tiramisu was quite nice, but gloopy and did not taste of coffee and alcohol. Our overall feelings of the evening was extremely disappointing, however the waitresses, apart from one, were charming and helpful. Because it was a birthday celebration I did not complain as I would normally.

Pizzas were excellent and so was the service. WC’s were clean as was the table and restaurant itself. Young Sophie Williams, the waitress, was smart, engaging, warm and friendly and efficient. I will most certainly return next time I visit Poole. Well done Sophie! Derek J Morgan (Wokingham)

When we're in Poole it's a regular stop and we are always made to feel very welcome and are looked after brilliantly. Kayleigh is always very welcoming and was great remembering us from last time and found us somewhere perfect to sit. We were then amazingly looked after by Hazel who know the menu very well and helped us with our order and then was a joy to speak with during our meal. Thanks to the team at Pizza Express. Look forward to coming back.
We always start with olives and sun blush tomatoes, this time we added a bruschetta which was made from pizza dough. It was ok but we wouldn’t have it again. The veggie pizza was loaded, the American hot is good as always. The desserts in my opinion are overpriced, it was £6.50 for a coffee and one very small portion of ice cream or £7.50 for a small portion of fudge cake. All together it came to about £74.00 for both of us … a nice evening but expensive for what it is. The staff and service were brilliant, so friendly despite being run off their feet.

Family group of 4 at 8pm on a fairly busy Saturday night. We had booked but the restaurant was really busy and we had to wait a while for our table - it wasn't long only 5 - 10 mins and the staff kept us informed which was absolutely fine! Nobody minds waiting as long as you know what is happening. Starters came out quite quickly and were very good... No complaints about drinks either... But we then had a very long wait for main courses after starters had been cleared... the restaurant was emptying out quite a bit at this point, so I'm not sure what the delay was, but we had to chase up our order... When it came over 2 of the 4 main courses were fine... but 2 of the mains weren't great... Fiorentina Pizza was overcooked and I think it had been sat on the pass for ages. Could hardly cut it and was dry... The rocket salad looked like it had been left out in the sun all day... We returned the pizza and the rocket salad and asked them to be deducted from the bill, which they were... But that's not the point... We had waited an eternity for food to arrive and anyone with any sort of quality standards that had looked at it would not have sent it out! Our waitress even looked at the pizza and rocket salad and said, "they don't look great, do they..." I couldn't be bothered to wait for them to remake the pizza - we had waited for around 30 mins from starters being cleared to the mains arriving at that point... I didn't want to wait any longer for one person to sit and eat on their own... The waitress was lovely - really apologetic and had been very friendly throughout. However, if she agreed that the pizza & rocket salad looked pretty terrible - then why did she bring them to the table? Why didn't she give them back to the kitchen to remake them? Apparently, one of the "good" pizzas that we have received had also been remade because the first attempt was not up to scratch... It felt a little bit as if they were just trying to see if they could get away with the other items being poor but hoping we wouldn't say anything! It's pizza guys... It's not Michelin star food... Just get it right before you send it out... If it isn't right, then don't send it out, otherwise it will just get returned and you will receive a review on Tripadviser that will do even more harm! The poor quality food just spoilt what should have been a good experience.

Absolutely great atmosphere, service and the food was absolutely amazing! The manager was absolutely amazing and very friendly. The kitchen looked to be having a good time and we’re all smiling. I give this pizza express a 10/10 and I will defiantly be returning soon!!
