Went for my birthday lunch in between Xmas and NY, not much choice of Thai but had plenty of starter choices and the Nepali lamb curry which was not very spicy but good. Great setting.

Always excellent food and perfect service but it's a bit like a canteen in as much as there are a lot of people sat quite closely in a relatively bright room.

Always enjoy meeting up with friends here just after Christmas. Buffet food, plenty of it, and very very tasty! Well worth a visit. Staff helpful and friendly. Would recommend definitely.Parking: Park free after 6pm otherwise parking charges apply ( Car park is not part of the Gurkha)

We really enjoy going to the Gurkha. It is a no-frills, no pretentions place that serves really good food and let's you get on with enjoying as much as you can eat. If you go at lunch time, don't leave it too late as closing time is enforced very punctually. Enjoy it for what it is - great food at an incredible price. We will be sure to return in the new year.

3 of us visited for lunch on Sunday, we've been many times and it's still hot or miss. Yesterday was a miss unfortunately. The pint of pepsi or lemonade is shocking, definitely not branded. The garlic chicken clearly used garlic granules and not real garlic as it tasted salty and grainy. Between us we tried every dish apart from the sweetcorn soup.Nothing stood out as ' I'll get some more of that'

Been wanting to visit for years as it’s always looked cool when passing & finally decided on a last minute visit, looks good from outside, inside rather dated, food was just ok, left full but didn’t enjoy it, needs more than just vanilla ice cream for dessert apart from a bit of melon & pretty much empty tinned fruit salad. I didn’t use the toilet but my family members did & they weren’t impressed.

For £12 I thought it was good value. However a pint of Magners was 5.99. I'd never been here but luckily I was with someone who had been. As I felt a little lost but apparently we could go up whenever to get our food. Its a nice restaurant and I will be coming back again just wish their was a little more guidance from the staff.

Large space but small buffet.Pro - Small but diverse selection of dishes.Loved the starters and appetizers. The curry, not so much.Con - Not so great on hygiene. The table that we got was not that clean. Maybe because of the busy nature but still...

Will definitely going back, Keep up good work

Good value all you can eat with a good Sunday lunch option too. Great for kids to explore new flavours! Very friendly staff and good to see it still going strong after many years since our last visit.

Overhyped restaurant with basic food options available, offering only a small variety of dishes. Very tired and distressed look to the place with poor toilet facilities. We saw several cobwebs in the main eatery area and above main door. Dessert was fruit or cheap vanilla ice cream in the chest freezer. There was 11 in our party and it was not an good experience especially as buffet price was £17. We DO NOT recommend you waste your money here?.

It was a sunny evening and we liked the pleasant situation of the restaurant. We were greeted in friendly fashion. The buffet had quite a lot of varied food items. We started with chinese and went on to the gurkha chicken curry, that was truly delicious. It was reasonably priced too.

Beware taking a baby into the restaurant, we had a £2 charge added to the bill even though a 12 month old didn't eat anything, this was queried and swiftly taken off although they didn't seem pleased to do it .

For such a large space, you have a small but delicious buffet selection. To be honest I was a little concerned when we went for dinner. The buffet service looked pretty small and I wonder how they would cope when full booked. Thankfully, only a handful of happy dinners where in with us.Despite the limited selection, the taste is spot on. Every dish was unique and you could see the chefs preparing each dish in the open plan kitchen. Food was replenished almost continuously and thre quality is way ahead of a lot of other buffets. The only let down was the desert and single vat of half empty vanilla ice cream and a few portions of fruit on the salad bar.So go for the main meals. In particular the Nepalese hot counter with delicious regional curries. Best of the best and the other hot plates are yummy too ?
