“We visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant is under new management. They have done a great job on the refurbishment and both the food and service we received were excellent. I can highly recommend the pizzas, which come on a thin base - delicious! The happy hour is great value too - we will certainly be returning!”

“Greeted with a warm welcome. Went to our room which was clean and well presented. Then the only downside to our stay. The bed was creaky, but comfortable. We booked a table for our evening meal and we were very impressed by the food. This was backed up by the breakfast in the morning. Ful English with cereals, porridge, fruit & yoghurt. Good selection of beer which was also well kept. A very good location for commuting into Newcastle or Durham.”

“We came here for a meal with friends on a quiet day for the ground after an appointment. The venue was quiet which for us was ideal as some of the party are neurodivergent and struggle in busy places. The food was demolished by our entire group including desserts! I ordered a light bite bean chilli wrap and it was huge really couldn't fault the food at all.The staff were polite and given the size of our orders worked so well together to organise our food coming out together and ensuring everyone got the right food and if we needed anything else. Our party also had allergies and they catered for them with ease although I would recommend contacting them ahead of your visit just to be on the safe side.I will definitely be returning, great value for money. There is parking available inside the cricket ground with overflow and access to the venue is ground floor and all on one level. Disabled toilet are easy to locate also.Vegetarian options: Good variety I felt although not fully vegetarian I do like to eat a lot of vegetarian options. For me there was a good choice from light bite to main meals.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely fine to have children there and they have a children's menu available.Parking: Although if you are parked in the council parking opposite the ground this is at a fee.Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is on the ground floor and from what I saw all on one level. Double doors on entry although not sure of both are unlocked but I couldn't imagine unlocking it would be an issue to staff.Dietary restrictions: A couple in our party had intolerances and allergies. We did ring in advance just to be on the safe side but staff were great and knowledgeable.”

“Great bar. Always warm when others won't turn heating on. Great sports choice and cheap but good pints”

“I really love the sunny upstairs, outside area. It's a shame it's not accessible for people with disabilities but it has the benefit of keeping young children and crying babies out, so usually peaceful dining.”

“I come here with the girls from work. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and the service will always be warm and friendly. It's easy to park close by too.”
