Another fabulous meal and great service for 7 of us tonight. It’s our “go to” for birthday celebrations! Thanks Le Raaj ??

Over-booked. Long wait to be seated. Mediocre food and POOR ATTITUDE to people with allergies. Menu is marked up for allergies -but beware it is not comprehensive. I ordered a Tandori Thali which was marked up for seafood but not for nuts. I specifically asked the waiter if the dish contained nuts and was told 'No". When the dish arrived I could plainly see slivers of almond as a garnish ! I have a profound nut allergy. Also the meal was over priced with slapdash un itemised billing.

Absolutely sublime food. The best I’ve tasted in quite a while. Great service too and a decent price in lovely surroundings.

What can I say. We were squeezed in as a last minute booking for 6 on New Years Eve. The place was chockablock but yet the service was outstanding and the food spectacular Hats off to all concerned, can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes. A restaurant at the top of its game

Dreadful experience. Clearly overbooked and under staffed. The bar was completely cluttered with dirty glasses...horrible....and this was on arrival. Oh dear. Waited 30 minutes to order a beer. Which took another 20 minutes to arrive. Oh dear. The pint glasses are NOT pints..but the price would suggest otherwise. Eh?? We Waited over two hours for our food. The food itself was clearly sub standard based on the fact that the management's greed to exploit the occasion...new years eve...superseded any desire to supply food to the paying customers who nevertheless paid top topdollar. Soggy onion bhagis........ Well it goes on so we will leave it at that. I did voice my displeasure but was expected to be placated by an indifferent waiter that this was because "we are very busy." Big deal....thats your job!!!!!! Beef....yes BEEF... in a vegetarian dish crowned a truly awful experience compounded by drunk Sunderland fans being allowed to chant football songs.....in what is supposed to be a quality restaurant. I hope the new year coming is not defined by this nightmare.. Sorry about this...but we can only speak of what we find. Our vegetarian friend with beef in his curry dish was given a voucher by way of apology but its doubtful that it will be redeemed. Happy New year. .

Ridiculously overpriced, food is nice but no individual prices on menu. Our chicken dishes contained 6 chunks of chicken each and sauce, 41.40 per dish ??

This is the most I have paid for an Indian meal anywhere in the world. Prices are ridiculously high (they are clever as don’t list the prices next to the food on the menu) it’s very small print at the bottom of the page but even still difficult to work out, and no itemised bill just a number scribbled down on a piece of paper stating how much to pay. Be careful if visiting or do your research as the final bill will shock you. We won’t return as can find other establishments in the area at half the price for just as good or better.

We chose this restaurant for a special meal out and were a party of nine. As soon as we arrived we could see there was going to be a problem as the entrance room was very full of people waiting for their tables, and waiters rushing around. The maitre d' took my details three times, and eventually offered us free drinks for the delay. It was only when we made him aware that one of our party was diabetic that he seemed to try to accommodate us, and even then we were 45 minutes late sitting down at our table. Next, there were problems giving our order. One person advised she was vegan, and the waiter said he would have to come back to her, then he took everyone else's orders and went without taking hers so we had to call him back. The attitude towards food allergies was very laissez-faire, with no information given about whether the chutney might contain mango. One of the party checked that a particular dish did not contain nuts, and explained she had a nut allergy. She was brought a dish garnished with nuts. It was lucky that the nuts were visible as this could have been fatal for her. When we raised this at the end of the night, they said 'we'll knock £5 off the bill'. The waiters continually brought the wrong orders, then with two dishes just left them on the table anyway, saying they were free. Some of the party had taxis ordered for 10.30 (three hours after our booking time) but because of the initial delays and the subsequent ones, people were having to run out of the door to sort out their transport instead of us being able to enjoy a relaxed meal together. The overall view we had was that the restaurant had overbooked and just could not cope with the numbers. Because the service was so slow, diners were not vacating their tables at the expected time and this had a knock on effect on later diners. The actual food was mediocre and overpriced. The menu does not have the prices next to the dishes, but there is in very small typeface, a price for a type of dish in the bottom margin. When members of the group ordered glasses of wine, they were brought large measures (not having asked for large ones) and charged £9 a glass which is expensive for this area.

Had an amazing meal with friends at Sedgefield. Food and service is always second to none! Regularly go for a take away and can honestly say it’s true same high standard! Thank you Le Raaj and

Used to be really good but now a total rip off. Lunch special was always small but for £8.95 it was adequate, now it has rocketed to £14.95 for even less. Also used to get a coffee or ice cream included, that is now gone. Better alternatives around the Durham area. Will not be back.

My husband and I went for a meal a couple of nights ago. We’ve been a few times before and it was expensive then considering (apart from the drinks) it’s pretty much the same food we’d get from our takeaway locally which would be half the cost. We decided to go for my husbands birthday and this time the cost was extortionate!! We both had starters (I had breadcrumbed king prawns - I only got two on the plate and that was £14.95!) my husband had kebab starter, we had mushroom pilau rice x2, korma, madras, garlic nan x1, Irish coffee, x2 lagers and x1 large coke = £99!!! They had new looking menus since last time we’d been and we couldn’t see any prices….until we spotted them written along the very bottom of each page; the words were only a few millimetres high, it was ridiculous. The food is nice but definitely not worth the prices they charge and we certainly didn’t eat food to that value. We were stunned at the bill and we both said we won’t go back. Yes prices have increased everywhere but not to that extent. Felt totally robbed.

Went out for an anniversary meal. Very disappointed. £72 for a lunch meal is very over priced. My partner had a coke and ordered off the lunch time special menu £14.95 (used to be £8.95 not so long ago plus you got coffee or ice cream, not anymore) I ordered a pint of lager priced at £7. My starter of lamb 2 ways was very disappointing. Hardly any meat and priced at £9.95. My curry was ok. Nice and spicy but when I got the bill I was very disappointed. £72 for a lunch that I wasn’t even that full. We queried the bill and we’re very shocked at the prices( no prices on the menu for some reason???) We both agreed that we would never return there again

Rip off , overpriced food . Partner got the lamb 2 ways for starter was a complete joke . £9.95 for a price of meatless bone with a thimble potion of chicken . No prices on the menu . £7 a pint of beer . I had the special which has increased by £6 . No heating on had to sit with coats on . Waiter rocked Uk with a bill of £72 I had one coke . We questioned the bill but got ripped off . Won’t return disappointed big time
