Miss Elephant is a fantastic blend of good coffee, great waffles, and excellent value toasties. I’ve ordered from here many, many times (too many if we’re being honest) and every single time it’s been the same consistent food and service. The staff have always been lovely and very friendly.

Ordered a ham and cheese toastie with a cappuccino the cappuccino was just foam with a little bit of coffee at the bottom of the cup and all the toastie had was one thin slice of cheap ham with a small amount of cheese the only thing I liked was the slices of cucumber on the side of the plate other than that it's lovely I have had better food from there in the past so am hopping it was just a one off

I visit this establishment weekly and wouldn't go anywhere else. It has a doorway wide enough to fit my double buggy through, which is possibly one of the few in Chester le Street that can, so therefore serves my every need. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is family orientated.Kid-friendliness: Babies and children are made to feel very welcome.

Undiscovered Gem. Unfortunate location but worth going to. You'll have to drive 30 miles in any direction to get nicer waffles, pancakes, and milkshakes. I'm also a huge coffee snob but these guys impress me every time.

Definitely visit if you get the chance. We are visiting England from the US and just randomly found this wonderful place. The owner is very nice and attentive, and the food is very innovative and fantastic. There are many dishes that I have never seen before. It's just non-stop decadence. I can't recommend it highly enough.Kid-friendliness: The owner was very sweet with everyone, but she clearly loves children.

we have been for the second time and we are very pleased. the first outing was on Sunday for breakfast I was surprised by the portion and the taste of everything fresh combination of scrambled eggs with salad perfect. the second time we were there in the afternoon I ate very good dumplings and my wife ate a waffle I am impressed by the taste of dumplings...my wife was delighted with the taste of fruit in waffles says she has not eaten such wonderful and good fruit for a long time and would like to know where they are ordered from . As for the service, professional friendly staff always smiling. this is a place that we will visit often and which I can recommend with a clear conscience.

Nicely decorated and clean coffee shop with friendly staff.My mam enjoyed her cappuccino but the coffee was a little too fruity for my liking.There is an extensive food menu but you will be very limited if you need gluten free or vegan food. Milk alternatives are served though.
