“Tracey was great, as I was such an awkward customer! She took great care to ensure I had a gluten free drink, and food suitable for coeliacs. Thank you!”

“We were there for a party. The party food was basic (pizza, garlic bread, chips, potato skins) but good. Service excellent. Good range of beers on the bar. Not for the real-ale enthusiast, but still good.”
“Great pub and prices of drink are very cheap. Locals really friendly, and a good old fashioned pub.
Went a few times whilst staying next door at the C&C club certified site.
Only thing I would suggest is to list opening times in window and there is no hanging sign or stand up blackboard outside to indicate it’s an open pub and it could be missing out on passing trade if you didn’t know it was there.
Nice cut lawn beer garden also out the back. Really enjoyed our few nights in it, and can’t believe how cheap it was.”

“I was unsure whether to try this place due to the odd bad review ,
But I’m pleased I did there’s new people running it and a new chef!
Since the new owners took over all of the reviews have been positive!”
“Great live music venue on a Friday night. Good beer, great bands and friendly folk to chat to. Never tried the food there so can't comment on that”

“Cheap and cheerful in the heart of Chester-Le-Street. You cannot easily beat the prices and with such a good location it is on of the pubs to visit if you are in town.”

“It's a Spoons, you know what exactly your getting when you walk in, elderly people enjoying their breakfasts and coffee in one corner, then dodgy clientele in the other corner on the cheap drinks....
Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegan options..”

“Great bar with a choice of 6 Real Ales. The Theskston Old Peculier and the Wainwright Amber Ale were particularly nice, as I’m told was the Guinness.”
