Rang up to book a table. Was told to come for a certain time. Drove 40miuntes to get there. Walked in to be told children arnt allowed. Really??? Foaming will not ever go back total waste of time
This was our first visit for a meal at lunchtime. I loved the ambience of the place - old worldy with lots of interesting items on the delft racks. The meal was amazing - real home cooked food. I had mince & dumplings & my husband had steak pie & chips. The couple behind the bar were very pleasant & welcoming. I think we got a really good meal at a good price. We'll definitely go again.

Our first visit to this establishment although we often go down to Chester le Street from our home in nearby Newcastle. Very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Truly outstanding meal and service. My steak pie was absolutely delicious.!

Lovely beer, friendly staff. The food was OK, but our lass didn't like her scampi and chips (she is very picky). The portions were massive so I couldn't finish my pork and stuffing sandwich and chips.
