“The Surtees is a bar that I have occasionally visited over the past forty years. I returned recently to find that it had been refurbished in recent years to a high standard. I did comment on the tree branches across the walls and ceilings a touch that I loved. Staff were busy but kept serving in the correct order and we're friendly, the Coors lager was good but I have had a better pint elsewhere. The bar has always been busy, though narrow you can find space and the customer base is generally customers over thirty years of age in my opinion. So nothing has changed, Crook itself it seems, has survived the many closures of pubs over recent years and it is as good a night as ever, without having to travel to Durham, which is now very expensive.”
