Over the years I've seen people come & go to the Farrers, as a small boy I've enjoy drinking pop. Now I'm almost a pensioner & I love a pint in this brilliant establishment, great atmosphere & great service great beers & wine. If you are ever passing, drop in & have drink or a meal?

A short minor road branches off the A689. You can park at the side of this short road with the Farrers Arms in front of you. Cars also park on the large grass triangle between the short road and the A689. Two of us booked a table for Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table. My friend went to the bar to order drinks and a small Sunday lunch. When he returned we asked for a small plate. The plate was given to each of us with our choice of roast, gammon, turkey or beef. We then helped ourselves to whatever vegetables we wanted from a very wide range. A thick brown, tasty gravy was available and you could ask for a gravy jug if you wanted extra gravy. There were several minor things different to other restaurants we had visited. There was no cutlery or knapkins on the table. You had to go to a small table to collect your cutlery and knapkins. The staff were very helpful and pleased to help if necessary. They also asked if you needed anything or any help. Before our visit I tried to search for the menu but I had no success. Apparently the menu is on their facebook. On my return home I searched for the menu on facebook but had no success. The cost of the food is very competitive so we will, no doubt, return mid week sometime.

We have had meals in the farrers many times! And they are always lovely. But I was really disappointed today. My partner went for 3 take out Sunday dinners, He took the plates, but he had forgotten a tub for the gravy! When he brung the dinners back home I was so surprised, and very disappointed, that they could not have found him a tub, a jar, a takeaway coffee cup, anything at all, to put the gravy into.. when you paying for a dinner you expect the gravy! I've never had this problem with any take out service before. I think the staff could have been a lot more helpful, if it had been myself that went for the dinners, I would not have taken the dinners without the gravy, I would have asked for a refund, or asked them to be a bit more helpful,. Sunday dinners just don't taste the same with just plain gravy granules.. lol do not forget to take something for your gravy when getting a take out

Welcome back cosy local! You can't help but notice if you live local to Crook the popularity of 'The Farrer's' since it re-opened. Many an evening people flood to the welcoming atmosphere and deep sinking carpets of a lovely local pub with amazing staff, service and 'how do they do it that cheap?' value food. We've been in a couple of times recently for meals and the food has been great every time. On a recent date night we enjoyed Prawn Cocktail and Mozzarella Sticks and it was delicious, the starter portions were large. For mains we've enjoyed Chicken Parmo (big), Smothered Chicken (Delish) and Bangers and Mash, each meal has been wonderful. Chunky chips and salad on the side. We think the portions are big and we were pretty stuffed after a two course meal. On two occasions we've arrived around 7pm on a week-day evening and there's been a steady flow of customers, not too packed and quiet, comfortable atmosphere. We tried the Sunday Carvery just after re-opening and Sunday lunch was nice, it was quite busy, remember to buy a Carvery Meal ticket before queuing as this is a mistake we made.
