Having spent the last year trying brunch spots across the North East every Saturday the grind is up there with the very best. Great coffee & tremendous menu - too hard to choose but looking at the plates around us it is hard to go wrong. Staff & atmosphere both brilliant, don't forget to book though - we hit lucky and found a quick time slot as was fully booked. Looking forward to the next visit.

This place is amazing. To the lovely welcome you get from the staff and owner to the incredible food and drink, this place is a rare gem with an awesome vibe that’s had us coming back time and time again. Highly recommend!

Fantastic breakfasts, make sure you book in advance. Tables are limited. It's no wonder that it's always busy as the food is incredibly good.

Delicious coffee, tasty food, friendly staff & superb ambience. The decor inside is cool, the coffee is excellent, far superior to the big franchised & chain coffee shops. The service was fantastic and the staff couldn’t do enough to help you.We shared the Nutella and strawberries pancakes and they were sublime, some of the nicest pancakes we’ve ever consumed. I recommend the flat white!Thank you for a lovely experience :)

I've been a regular customer here since July 2022 and it's absolutely the best place in Spennymoor to grab a quick coffee to take away or enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch. The menu changes seasonally and features good quality ingredients with a more international and fusion slant that other cafes in the area. Some people complain that it is expensive, but they employ a large group of local young people and serve delicious food of a calibre that is unmatched for miles. The decor is funky, the music is cool and the staff are professional. The tragedy is that it is so tiny - I'd advise booking via their Facebook page in advance to ensure that you can have a table.

It's always a good sign if somewhere is busy on a Friday morning in October! Went for breakfast, and chose the vegetarian breakfast burger. I'm not vegetarian, but often choose a meat free option. Absolutely amazing flavours...without doubt the best breakfast I've ever had. All served in a lovely, dog -friendly atmosphere.

We called in for breakfast after Parkrun. Everything was lovely, the choice of breakfasts was amazing from pancakes to sausage, bacon & egg, or all of that in the American Stacker ( I think that was what it was called.) If you know you are going book a table as its busy

Stopped off in Spennymoor to pick up a few groceries on our way to an Airbnb. Looking for somewhere to kill half an hour and grab a coffee we came across The Grind. Excellent find. We had lattes and a Croque Monsieur (looked good in the reviews) which we just shared. Great staff, hot coffee and very good food. I happily recommend it and if I'm ever in the area again I would like to sample their menu some more.

The Butcher's Breakfast, WOW!...If we could give the Grind more than 5* we would!... The food, the drinks, the vibe, 10/10!

It's crazy that somewhere this good is hidden away in Spennymoor. If you live in the town or are passing through, there's literally no alternative for brunch or coffee.Make sure to attend the one-off events or regular quizzes/etc
