Quite a regular visitor to wetherspoons pubs. But not as frequently as I used too. Are they pubs or cafes? They should really make their mind up. Also this 'order via app' nonsense? I was stood in a queue at the bar in this one, one person serving behind the bar, whilst another staff member was busy preparing an 'app order', then she took it to a table, not twelve foot way from the bar! What is the point? If they want waitress sevice then introduce it. Tables were stacked up with dirty dishes and glasses, I cleared our table myself, and the surrounding tables were still piled up when we left. The coffee machine is cheap but abused. We witnessed someone come in off the street with a paper cup and refill it from the machine. We also saw people walk in and take a dirty mug off a table. rinse it out at the machine, then fill it up. So obviously not enough staff on to keep an eye on this which will only result in those customers who don't abuse it getting pennilised eventually. Decent choice of beers to be fair, and it is cheaper than the surrounding pubs, but your pint isn't always top notch. I took one back a couple of weeks back as it was undrinkable and the barman just looked at me as if to say 'what do you expect'? So cheap and sometimes cheerful, depending on your mood and that of the staff, but sadly, to me anyhow, this branch and a couple of others like it are bordering on becoming nothing more than a McDonalds with beer type establishments.

Get ya coffee machine fixed! One machine for busy mornings is not enough! Queue for fifteen mins behind people with five cups it’s not fair

One star only as you have to. Went for breakfast never seen as many dirty tables with food on, dirty plates and cups on them, each room was the same, also saw a white container full of disgusting liquid next to tables really horrible, we left and went to the superb Green Dragon

Met up with the family for Xmas, female staff member dressed as Santa was the most rude unwelcoming member of staff. Food arrived out our table, had to catch it from falling off the table as she threw it on at us, had to locate sauces etc ourselves. We had three excitable young children (1 who is autistic) who ran too and from the toilets on a couple of occasions one of which screamed whilst coming down the stairs. This resulted in said staff member coming over and shouting out all of us to control our kids without finding out who the parents were. My children are 24 and 19 and were well behaved so I didn’t appreciate being shouted at. Same staff member then refused to service all 18 of us any more drinks, she waited until we had all purchased food though. The same staff member was charging around the pub like a bull in a china shop and dropped several drinks. I wouldn’t suggest the grinch outfit would be more suited for her. Will not return. The Green Dragon were much more accommodating.

Tonight I went in this place for a meal, the service was very quick and the food was delicious, it's my 3rd time in this place

We have eaten here, and living local often popped in for drinks. But this last visit was a nightmare waiting to get served at the Bar due to only 2 staff. 1 taking App orders and the other serving drinks. A group of 4 men walked out to another pub as they got fed up of waiting. Wetherspoons Management need to get more staff for each shift. No wonder they don't keep their staff, as they're obviously under too much pressure and decide to leave. Not enough staff to clear the tables. It looks a dirty mess sometimes. Not a good look if it's the 1st time for anyone visiting the Cross Keys.

AWFUL - I wish I could give 0/5 Regardless of the ‘competitive’ prices, this was probably one of the worst meals I have ever attempted to eat I ordered a large vegetarian breakfast The beans were stone cold, the fried eggs sloppy and the hash-browns appeared to have been refried or reheated. The sausages completely tasteless I could say much more about the rude and uninterested staff, but why bother? as I will not be returning

Visited for lunch on Sunday 14th November. The food was nice, but the pub itself was just so dirty - food on the floor (being walked over by the staff), plates on tables that we had to move ourselves, wet menus, dirty cutlery and glasses. I don’t think it had been cleaned from the Saturday night. It annoys me when you hear ‘it’s a Wetherspoon’s’ as the excuse. If it’s like it again we’ll go to Green D instead.

Me and my partner always come here for breakfast and we was served by a younge blonde girl, she was the most miserable person I have ever been served by, no eye contact felt very uncontrollable and not welcome in the slightest, she told us I couldn't have my partners beans. Has time went on I spoke to the manager and asked her why the service was so bad, she replied the young girl needed her dinner break with her been type One Diabetes, I was just lost for words no need be rude because you need a break, also waiting about 20 minutes for our breakfast. Just very disappointed ☹️

Advised that there were no clean wine glasses for our wine so we were offered prosecco or beer glass. On suggesting they wash a glass was told they didn't actually have any to wash. But the lady thought they were on order. She was very pleasant and apologetic and I completely understand it was not her fault. Imagine been offered beer in a wine glass. Wasn't peak time. Plenty of local shops selling cheap wine glasses. It's not good enough wetherspoons but unfortunately yet another indicator of how poorly customers are valued

We visited the pub on Saturday tea-time. The pub was very busy, the staff were extremely friendly. We ordered a chicken curry and vegetable curry. Both looked nice and were tasty however we were both ill that evening and the following day. We only had one drink, so can only assume it was the food?

Staff were lovely and friendly. Had the feeling that they were under staffed. My food came and it was absolutely terrible.!Sent it back and reordered but food was not so good.Party of 4 and 3’out of 4 were disappointed with the food. The staff were so lovely so we didn’t complain too much. Just doing their job with the r sources that they had.Witherspoons seem to be cutting back and it’s showing…..

Don't bother. Been before but today was appalling. Ordered steaks . They were so salty couldn't eat them. Manager said they didn't use salt and they were seasoned with chip spice!!!! Offered desserts as an alternative which then took over 30 minsto arrive even though the pub was almost empty .not surprised will notcome ever again as the manager was also off hand and quite rude the desserts were rubbish too.
