Stay over for one night ( Friday, 16th February)Excellent. All the bar staff were brillant, attentive, and polite.Prices are brilliant and a real feel of cosy lovely pub, snug with good music on.Breakfast was brillant too with lovely sweet breakfast staff. OurDouble room was in a little court area in the garden, was cute, small but big enough for a weekend stay, they provide hair dryer, iron & board, kettle, coffee and tea. TV and on suite in a lovely clean, modern room ( Excellent value for money the overnight stay ) brillant car park across £6 for long staff. This place is close to everything on foot. If we stay in Beverly again, we will definitely stay over here. Thanks

Right in the centre of Beverley so couldn't be more convenient if it tried, a 2 minute walk from the hotel door to all the shops, takeaways, pubs etc you could wish for.My room was spotlessly clean, warm, cosy & had enough Yorkshire ? to keep me happy ?All the staff are delightful, as helpful and friendly as you could ever wish for so they really helped to make my stay a pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble & there's a very good supply of young, strong men for moving suitcases up and down the stairs, thanks lads, you're all absolute ? s.The food is all home cooked to order and is delicious. There was a huge selection of cereals, juices & cooked breakfasts & I never saw one plate with anything left on it which is a brilliant testament to the lovely lady who cooks, everything was spot on so a massive thanks!!Bar meals are available and the one I had was just as good as the breakfast , good home cooking can't be beaten ever anywhere. The bar is open daily and again full of local characters who were so friendly and welcoming it felt like we were leaving old friends behind when I left. I travelled with my ? and she had so much fuss made of her I'm not sure she wanted to come home either !! They don't stock my usual brand of cider so I tried one recommended by the barman, Aspleys, which was so good it could easily become my regular tipple. The rooms are cleaned daily and those ladies really know their stuff!! Beds stripped & everything cleaned to within an inch of its life which is what you want when you're using a bed that's been slept in by numerous strangers. Even the window cleaner had a chat when he was up his ladder with his bucket in hand. How many marks out of 10 would I give this business? I can honestly say they smashed it & a score of 15 is very much deserved as the staff are a brilliant team with only 1 goal which from what I saw they're all doing in bucket loads.A huge thanks everyone concerned, I had an excellent stay made all the nicer by the hotel staff, other guests and the locals x xRooms: Clean & very comfortable with lashings of hot drinks, everything you could need like iron, hairdryer etc is provided.Nearby activities: There's history, shops, cafes, films, takeaways, bakers, pubs right on the doorstep so no need to travel out of the area for anything & as its flat I found it all within easy walking distance & if you're a dog over at least half of the population seems to have at least one ! Very few shops etc refused entry to mine which isn't what I'm used to.Safety: As I travelled with a dog we often walk quite late for her last visit before bed & I never once felt either uneasy or concerned for my safety.Walkability: The areas we visited were quite flat so as a walking stick user I found it a good place to stretch my legs and get out & about. There's plenty of benches if you do need a breather & cafes are plentiful and very good quality so have no fear of setting off as I doubt you'll be disappointed.Food & drinks: Everything I had was top quality so delighted with the choices available and thd prices were excellent. Very pleased with everything I had and some very good vegetarian options.Noteworthy details: It's a very good place to stay for both long stays or just a couple of nights. I was really spoilt for choice with the history of the town and the locals I spoke to seem rightly proud of their heritage. I simply didn't have enough time to visit everything so plan your days and get as much sightseeing planned in as its all very well looked after and within walking distance.

This place made us smile no end, from its quirky decor to lovely selection of beers, wines and spirits. It was a wonderful place to people watch and the staff are smiley and helpful when asked about local and historical information.

This is a great pub with a great atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. We (5 of us) were happy having a drink and fancied a bite to eat. After gaining a takeaway from next door, we sat in the empty beer garden (note the windmill was not serving food) to be asked to move. Now I understand if this is policy, but if we had just eaten up, we were going to stay at the windmill all night and would have spent a considerable amount on drinks...thus this custom went elsewhere. Like I said, great pub, but a little short-sighted on a cold, wet Saturday night.

Such a friendly place in a great location. Despite the lively pub downstairs the rooms were quiet.
