Good value for money, Wonderful staff, good for families young old anyone really. Lovely batter food delicious. Reminded me of good old fashioned hospitality with modern twists.There's nothing wrong with that.

Proper old school place, like something from the 70s. We ordered a takeaway and my first thought was that it wasn’t cheap. However things aren’t these days so no problem. Whilst waiting they brought out 2 potions of fish and chips to a couple in the diner and I thought. That’s small, maybe that’s what they asked for?! However the portion size is very small for everything. My wife had chips and gravy which had a small tray sat inside the takeaway tray, something a child would eat. What you get is nice, the quality is there. But I have to give a poor rating because both of us had to grab something else to get filled up.

Very disappointing. Very overpriced, small portions. Could have bought food from the supermarket and made the same meal at home. Would not recommend and won't be going again.

We went to Allen's Saturday 22nd July for a meal. I ordered large cod and chips, jumbo sausage and chips, scampi and chips and a child's jumbo sausage and chips. The fish didn't look large and the scampi was tasteless very watery (under cooked) my wife didn't eat the scampi. A waitress came over and asked what was wrong with the scampi so my wife told her. After a few minutes the lady came back and refunded £10. The meal was over £45 and you had to pay for condiments, there was no garnish or lemon. We left dissatisfied and vowed never to return.

I ordered just chip’s because the menu wasn’t very satisfying. the chips were soggy and tasted horrible. The service was ok but they all looked miserable. never coming back again.

awful food we couldn’t get tomato sauce because they barely gave us any because they were tight. Food is dry and Christmas decorations still up. Place looks filthy and customer service is RUDE.

The staff are lovely, and you are served quick but for what you pay it's not worth it, £31 for cheeseburger and chips, kids cheese burger and chips, and batter sausage and chips and 3 drinks, the burgers were like school cafeteria style and the coke is out of a 2l bottle so pretty warm and flat. It would be cheaper to go to a burger stand and get flat grilled burgers

Very small portion size for the price. Paid £2 for each soft drink to see it pouree out of an already opened large bottle. Also charged for the ketchup sachets! OK atmosphere, but far better value for money elsewhere. £50 for 2 adults and 3 kids meals, and we were still hungry afterwards due to the small portions.

Seated immediately, but that’s where the good parts end. Waited forever to be served at the counter and when I saw the person in front of me had to tell the server exactly how many sachets of sauce they wanted so they could be charged for each one, I decided I needed something rather more upmarket and we left.

Two year ago the food was great we couldnt wait to go back, today as a family of 4 food was disgusting so left most of it and went else were to eat wil not be going back £51 quid down the drain,scampi was filled with mush,fish was thin and batter not nice.

I’m unable to comment on the food as we didn’t get that far. My daughter has a nut allergy to which I informed the staff to be told in a rude manor “nope we aren’t going to risk it” before turning away from me not giving me chance to respond
