after just spending a week on holiday in Bridlington, we ate our evening meal every night in the friendly forester, we could not have asked for a better service and quality food, all the staff were great to deal with, helpful and smiling, the food was great quality it arrived prompt and was hot every time, would highly recommend if you are in the area looking for food,

Lovely staff who were all warm and welcoming especially the lady in a pink shirt behind the bar (think it was the manageress) and a red head gent black shirt on the floor

I booked the large room to celebrate my Dad's life. I went for the gold buffet, the food was absolutely fantastic, as was the presentation. Even though I hadn't booked it until 1300 I was able to go in at 1000 to get the room prepared with photos etc. The tables and chairs had already been set up but I was told you are welcome to change anything you want. The staff were so respectful and I want to thank you all very much helping celebrate my Dad's life ❤

Went for a Sunday lunch was absolutely vile , veg was still rock hard , all the food was frozen and just warmed up , very disappointed, tasted like a microwave Sunday lunch , whilst there 3 other people also complained

Pre booked on Monday for a family of 5 (3kids). Food was very nice and staff equally pleasant. Food took around 45min to arrive from the table app order. Only small critique was my wife's steak was well done not medium rare as requested but still lovely so didn't raise issue.Toilet paper dispenser in the men's cubicle was partially off the wall and a leak from one of the urinals on floor but.was sectioned off.Allow dogs in too which is great.Would come back.

With a family of four and one infant we turned up on the off chance of a space. We were escorted straight to a table, the menu choice was good, we opted for two jerk chicken sizzlers and two Lasagne meals (one vegetarian) and a kids meal. The food arrived in around 20 minutes and all four dishes were beautifully done, very tasty and brought out by a friendly and pleasant waitress. We had a gift card to use, there were no issues in using it. Prices were good, the place was clean and tidy, the tables were cleared and cleaned down swiftly. An easy five stars from us and if we ever visit Bridlington again we’ll definitely be calling in here.

Went for the last day of our family holiday. To be honest wish we didn't bother. For context when booked a table for 4pm on a Friday. Service was poor to none, seemed to be only three members of front of house staff working so service was very slow. When trying to order food had to settle for my fourth choice as they seemed to be out of everything else. One of the group wanted the 14oz gammon which was not available but he could have the 7oz gammon. But they would not give two 7oz to make up to 14 oz! Food was bland and poor. Definitely would not recommend.

Totally understaffed to cope with demand surprised they even got through the evening.Reflected in the serving time one hour wait but could not blame the staff but senior management have a lot to answer for.Need a root and branch look at the operational aspects. When food arrived still a good standard for the money.Three cheers to the persevering staff.

Ordered rump steak which was as much gristle as meat and the chips were hollow and frazzled. We have been many times but I don't think we will be going again until quality improves.

Pros: Prices aren’t overly expensive There’s plenty of parking You can order from your table Negatives: Slow service Food isn’t the best When football’s on, it’s a football pub & not ideal for families We visited this place looking for a quick pub meal. We didn’t expect anything special as it’s a cheap and cheerful kind of place. But we did expect good service and sadly this was lacking. Our food took well over an hour to arrive after ordering it. And it seems we weren’t alone. Other tables around us were getting upset about waiting over an hour for their food too. When the food came, it’s was ‘ok’. But that was it. Nothing special, not even decent. My main course was a bed of onion, that was more a field of onion. On top was a small amount of main course. But this clearly bulked out with onion. It was poor value. I wouldn’t bother returning here and would probably advise others avoid it. There are plenty of other pubs in the area with the same pricing but better quality food. And faster service.

I have been here three times and have always been impressed by the friendly staff and excellent food. From the moment you walk in the great experience begins, they have a great set of chefs and fabulous staff.

First time we've been post covid and we shall certainly be coming again. The staff were friendly, service was good and quick and the meals we had were the best national chain pub meals we've had in a long time

I have gone to the Friendly Forester with my mum. We have ordered a vegetarian lasagna and a beef lasagna. The server came asked who was beef. I stated that was mine. As we were eating our meals we said to each other that our order tasted funny. We quickly established we had been given each other’s orders. My mother hasn’t eaten meat in years so was very upset. I told the server who was very rude and tried to blame myself for her error. We was offered a free drink and chance to order again but we turned this down. We was then refunded the price of the meal only and not our one drink each. Would have thought due to their rather large error the decent thing would have been to refund the whole meal. Very disappointing, would not recommend unless you like to be blamed for other peoples errors. What happened to the customer is always right.

Enjoyed my Caribbean chicken skewers my husband had the chicken tikka which he also enjoyed. The staff were helpful and sorted our cousins mixed grill when he told them it needed microwaving as it wasn’t served hot enough.I will definitely return as the meal was really nice compared to other pub meals I have had.
