Thank you to the chef for going above and beyond in accommodating allergies and preferences, the food was both fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff friendly and caring, our waitress was right about the smoky bacon, it was lush. Cannot wait to return to try the cakes! Thank you for an enjoyable meal.

Lovely Tea room, lovely staff. My only criticism was my English breakfast was overly greasy...but otherwise lovely. Other plate of Posh eggs was thoroughly enjoyed by my mum.Dietary restrictions: Offered GF breads .

Really good selection of food, which was of high quality. The pescitarian lacked a little imagination, but other than that it was excellent.

AMAZING, food was brilliant and presented extremely well. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was fast even when they was busy. The Sunday lunch was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time and they even asked us how we wanted our beef cooking which is extremely unusual fo places and proves that they care about there customers.will definitely be making a return soon.

Two of us popped in without reservation for a quick bite before my train n from Howden to London. Greeting was a bit of a kerfuffle with nobody sure which tables were free. We headed upstairs to an area opened specially and ordered a sandwich, leek and potato soup, fruit scone with jam and butter and cheesecake with two teas. Service took a long time and tea came but was way too weak though it was leaf tea which I appreciated. The sand which was nice but the soup was dreadful. It was basically cream with a few flecks of leek, very little potato and no seasoning and the croutons weren’t - they were a few bits of toasted bread so just went soggy. As time was ticking away we asked for our cakes. The table next door asked for hot water twice. The cakes came minus the jam which required another wait (except I started eating the scone as train time was fast approaching). Sandwich and uneaten soup were cleared with no enquiry as to what was wrong. We headed down to pay to be greeted with, “I’ll be with you in a minute”. We didn’t have a minute but waited whilst the staff finished whatever they were doing before they processed the bill. Customer service is lacking here as is organisation. The soup was awful. We wouldn’t return given stiff competition in Howden.

A great venue upstairs and downstairs. Terrific menu with plenty of choice. A great deal of things home made and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to have a breakfast there which looks lovely.
