Absolutely appalling place I bought 3 cans of coke 1cup of tea and 2 kids apple juice the price was astonishing it was £19.50 I asked it this for real? There were no menus on the tables in hindsight I should have asked but it was a grotty tea shop only went in because it was empty and there were a crowd of us with a dog and a pram.please ask for price list before ordering

Wonderful gem of a place. Alison is a fabulous and generous host and chef. Her fish lunches are especially good and great value too. Love all her vintage crockery and the garden and parlour are hidden treasures. Please open again soon!

A little gem that we found by accident! A lovely warm welcome, charming interior and garden, and real dog lovers! The food was great, and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again very soon!

Lunched here several times. Great place for lunch. Relaxed atmosphere, great service, great team. Excellent value. Today they even went out to buy some fish fingers and glutton free bread for my sandwich as they had run out! This is exceptional service. Well done ladies. See you soon xx

I'm from Spain and it was my first tea time experience and it was very good! I had the tea time set with savoury and sweet snacks and they were all so good! The ladies that run the place were super nice and made the experience very wholesome!

I have now been to Bow Ties tearoom twice. On the first occasion I had a roast beef dinner.. I have to say the food was really good... the beef especially was succulent! The second time was for a breakfast special... really good quality breakfast with unlimited toast... and Earl Grey tea in a proper tea cup ? Highly recommended..!

Booked a table for my wife, daughter and myself, taken to a lovely little building outside for afternoon tea. Great service, lovely food and tea, and dog friendly (took my daughters dog). An absolute gem in Bexhill, highly recommended!

In a crowded market for cafes in Bexhill, and indeed along Western Road, Bow Ties has is an unique niche position. Quaintly British with tables full of character and charm rather than wipe-down melamine. Bone China crockery, table cloths, (paper) napkins in napkin holders! Don't be put off from peering through the street window, at rear of the cafe, almost through the kitchen, is a delightful courtyard including a 'Victorian Tea Shed' complete with miniature chandeliers! Limited range of coffees but good tea, served in a pot, and fresh cakes. Cooked food available too.

Lovely setting and atmosphere, we sat in the Victorian Parlour out the back. Really enjoyed the afternoon tea and the staff were so friendly.

Our first visit to this town centre tea shop where we were taken through to the Victorian parlour - a furnished summer house at the back of the courtyard, with seating for up to 16 people. We ordered macaroni cheese, chicken and leek pie and spicy avocado on toast. Fresh and perfectly cooked vegetables were served with the main courses, the spicy avocado toasts consisted simply of eight triangles on a plate, without garnish or salad. The hot dishes were tasty, the vegetarian option was less than appetising and the apple crumble and custard was unremarkable. Whilst we were the only occupied table in the parlour, the furniture was unwieldy and cumbersome and led us to suspect that if all four tables were occupied the parlour would feel very crowded and social distancing impossible. I am always keen to support local, independent businesses - but I have to be honest too. Bow Ties is a business that can only be described as amateurish - this is a review on behalf of 4 locals who will not be returning.

Sorry, my experience wasn’t great. Took my young daughter here and she had cake while I ordered rarebit. One of my favourite dishes totally fell flat. It wasn’t at all caramelised on top and looked insipid, with burnt edges. My daughters cake was too heavy. It wasn’t even that tho, the proprietor literally hid round the corner when the waitress asked her to speak to us. She actually refused to do anything at all, laughable really. The young waitress was lovely, professional and courteous…. She was an example of great customer facing skills. Sadly not the owner.
