My family has enjoyed going to this unique cafe for few years now, though we are not local. We like the food, the vibe, the decor and the staff (especially those who appear to be old Rockers) we also appreciate that it’s not pretentious in any way. On this occasion all 6 of us enjoyed our food. My husband always has the trailer trash pie as it’s so good, and I have the ham, egg and chips. This is usually perfect …juicy ham, nicely cooked egg, decent chips, and was very tasty on this visit. I must say though, it can be a bit hit and miss. On one occasion the ham appeared to be thinly sliced packet ham and the egg was barely cooked. Hopefully that won’t be the case again. We have huge respect for the Custom Cafe as it seems to be run in a very altruistic style, supporting good causes and sometimes employing disadvantaged people. We also love the outdoor space in the summer and the chance of hearing some live music. Well done to the management for having such a great vision for the Custom Cafe. We will continue to visit whenever we are in the area.

What a turn around since our last visit. So much better . Service was very good, attentive and helpful. Breakfast/brunch was extensive and good in the American style. Disabled access was perfect. Only constructive criticism….please clear the table on each and every visit…the customers will appreciate it…thank you.

Lunch time visit with a friend Fab gluten free chocolate cake the size of my head! So good. Will be back. My dog also loved it - he got lots of fuss and some sausage so he was happy too.

I've been several times over the last couple of years. Always a great friendly atmosphere and no different today. My Trailer Trash Pie was spectacular, and my mum had a luscious chicken burger, while her partner had the all day ham and egg breakfast which he raved about. All the food was freshly made, hot, tasty and good portions. Then there was homemade treacle tart, homemade sticky toffee pudding, and a warm brownie for desert. My dog was spoiled with sausages and bacon bits and was fussed by all the waitresses who were excellent. Great stuff.

Was a regular guest at Custom Cafe when we lived in Guestling, yesterday I visited Guestling, so I went to the Custom again. Felt like home, never failed, food was great, service was a top notch. Everyone is so lovely.

Never have we ever paid for our food before we ate it, it said thick ham with poached egg on a muffin, it looked like cat food ( the ham ) all chopped up cold

Went here today with my wife. It was very busy due to amongst other things an Halloween event. There was a short wait to be seated and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. When seated we were waiting only a very short time before our orders were taken. The food did take a while before it arrived but it was very busy and the food arrived freshly cooked. The food and service was very good and decent value for money. A quirky place with friendly staff. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.

No idea what has happened but this once great cafe was just awful. We arrived (3 of us) and showed to a table. The diner wasn’t busy, only 4 other tables of people. Given the menus and had just sat when a waitress came straight over to take our order so we asked for drinks and more time to decide on food. Drinks came a few minutes later along with the waitress insisting on taking our order now. One chose the Custom Breakfast for 7.95 with the extra single hash brown for 55p, one went with the Hillbilly Special for 9.95 and I went with the Vegan Green Feast for 8.50 and took out the avocado and had extra mushrooms. Immediately we were told to pay before we would receive our food, which at the time was fine with us. The wait for food was about 20 minutes, so not so bad. When the food arrived it was all stone cold. Even the toast was cold and barely toasted at all. In fact the vegan mayo was warmer than the rest of the food. The vegan feast was definitely not a feast, rather a splat of cold spinach, two half’s of obliterated and cold dehydrated tomato, some very cold mushrooms, two burnt vegan sausage things and some baked beans. My no means was this a feast in anyone’s eyes. The Hillbilly pancakes were cold and as hard as anything but what made us laugh was the advertised side of fruit was literally a thin slice of orange. Hilarious. The Custom Breakfast was cold and the scrambled egg had a weird flavour to it so was left. Whilst we were trying to get the waitress attention to ask why it was all cold another couple sat and ordered and told not to pay until they left. This made us feel we had been singled out as we were three young guys. My mint tea was acceptable despite the cup it was in was covered in smears. The coffee was bitter and a bit unpleasant. As we admitted defeat and left we asked the waitress about the payment and was told everyone has to pay before being served. We pointed out that the couple were told otherwise. As we got in our car a manager came out to ask what was wrong. We explained that the food was all cold and unpleasant and that we had felt singled out. She explained that everyone was supposed to pay upfront and it was a mistake that the couple were told otherwise. So that was ok. When we mentioned the poor food the lady said that the cafe was busy and that the waitress should have come over to check everything was satisfactory, this never happened. We used to visit this cafe with my dad and the food was always so lovely and hot and excellent value. I am honestly lost as to what has happened in the last 18 months that has resulted in such awful food. I doubt we will return which is a shame as the memory of what it used to be is so far from what it is now.

The Custom Cafe is an American themed diner/cafe with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is in their garden which has been well tended and there is also a decking and a porch. They serve lunch and dinner items which are well priced and delicious! The portion sizes are generous. They also have a large selection of hot and cold drinks including milkshakes. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. I like how sanitary products were available in the bathroom. They also do biker nights - though it is not solely a biker cafe - and live music.I would definitely come here again!Vegetarian options: Some dishes come with vegetarian options (e.g. vegetarian vs beef chilli), and some dishes are wholly vegetarian.Parking: The car park is small in comparison to the amount of tables and chairs in the cafe, but when I went I had no issues parking.

We decided to take the 2.5 hour journey to support this cafe. It wasnt too busy, about 8 tables of people who all had their food. We asked the young girl for a table for 8. She replied saying they dont have one without checking. We then asked for two tables of four. She went to the manager/supervisor who had an appaling dont care attitude. Then after debating, they found a table for us. The time now was 11:47. I asked if we can order from the lunch menu and was told no, because lunch only start at 12:00. I checked with the group and they said its fine we will wait. The next part is even more shocking. We got told there is 1.5 hours wait for food. WHAT!!! By the way, We are the only ones ordering at that time. The whole experience was shocking and we felt very unwelcome. I would definately not recommend them neither would we support them again. We went to Route 1066 instead. Much better cafe, friendly and plenti of seating.

A great oasis of a cafe,in what is a bit of a desert for culinary places. Good size menu, incorporating quite few Veggie options. We stopped by for Lunch. I had a nicely cooked "All Day" breakfast,my partner had the Veggie version,Veggie Sausages and Omelette, instead of my Pork Sausages and Dry Cured Bacon,With white or granary toast. Good generous helpings too, freshly cooked. Good, freshly brewed cafe latte (they were grinding the beans as we ordered). Nice friendly, and informative service.Pleasant waiting staff too. Don't be surprised if they ask you to pay just after ordering,I think this makes it easier for customers to leave easily, and quickly, when they have finished their meal. No annoying times trying to catch the attention of the waiting staff to get your bill! When you have finished, just up and go. Plentiful parking, just off of the main road. We will definitely be eating here again.

Always curious as to being asked to settle food bill before food arrives, it’s either the proprietor thinks a dine and dash will take place or the food isn’t up to scratch. Nice little venue I’d say but food is ok at best
