The setting is pleasant and the music good but truthfully you are better off going next door to the Cricketers than wasting your time here. We have visited three time now hoping that each visit was just an unlucky fluke re service but have finally given up.The staff have a 'tool cool to work here' attitude. One time no wine glasses available. Wine poured down side and base of glass but not wiped or apologised. Kept waiting while server makes and tastes her coffee.

Really nice pub, good atmosphere and good option of booze!! But please sort out the womens toilets, they're a state, doors don't lock and just generally grim.

Very disappointed booked for roast dinner with my Brighton friends as had come from Edinburgh. The reviews here seemed pretty good unfortunately not on this day. We waited over 40 mins for our dinner which we were advised would be the case but when it arrived it was very Luke warm the roast potatoes were hard and chewy the kale was so chewy it was indigestible. The meat and gravy were tasty bust just to cold. 3 meat dinners were not consumed however the vegetarian option was enjoyed by my friend but also not hot.Staff seemed totally stretched but we were offered another meal but by this time we were no longer in the mood to wait for it. We were only offered one meal free and a child's priced meal which was not cheap at £9.50. We payed £10 each for food we didn't eat. Maybe on another day could be different just wasn't a good experience for us.

Went for Sunday lunch with family.\\nFood and service was great apart from you cant ask your server or go to the bar for drinks\\nYou have to scan a code on your table and use an app. I was sat next to the bar and the app was frustrating with so many menus especially for drinks with mixers.\\nGreat meal all the same

Had a decent night out. Friendly staff, relaxed vibe, great music...lots of 90s and naughties tunes I hadn't heard in ages. Reasonably priced drinks too. Would have been 5 stars but the toilets left a lot to be desired towards the end of the night. I would recommend this venue.

Great food but loud. Good options for food with good vegan choices. Lots of burgers this is the best part and they taste really good. They also have good sitting outside however there was a very noisy group of people which slightly annoying. This may not be there fault but the where shouting and pretty drunk and the staff did not ask them to quite down at all when this was distributing a lot of customers just trying to eat and this was at only 6 pm if it was like 9 onwards to be expected but not when customers just want to eat dinner. It's really as shame they had to loose a star for this also dessert options could have being more as there was only one.

Lovely staff, beautiful historical building on the outside - nice little beer garden.... the atmosphere is very busy, bawdy, open plan and touristy. Not the pubs fault. It's in a very popular location - I just wouldn't recommend on the weekends given the clientele.

Busy pub in a popular location. Had a Sunday roast with friends. Expect to wait for more than an hour for your roast lunch. Other than that, all good.

Good atmosphere, friendly but very slow service. Good range of vegan options. The vegan roast was fine, but very vegetable-heavy (vegetables in pasty, with a side of vegetables), and no cauliflower cheese or Yorkshire pudding. The Moving Mountains vegan hotdog was good, but a little pricey at £13. Overall, worth a visit

Went on a Sunday. There were 11 of us and they did very well to accommodate us. I had the vegan roast and it was very tasty. Portion sizes were good. Pricey but worth it. Atmosphere was good and a good selection of drinks. I think we could have had more gravy but I imagine you could ask for more if needed.

A very old looking English pub down the small roads of Brighton. It has a really nice garden, the staff were kins and nice. Service was quick. Prices are pretty much what you would expect in the middle of Brighton.

The pub itself is nice enough and the outside area looks very pretty with lots of ivy and fairy lights...although they could do with extending this as we ended up sitting in a far more grubby part outside. My main issue however was with the food which I didn't really think was all that. I had the pork & kale, instead of kale I got cabbage and I found the pork pretty underwhelming. Would probably go again to give it another chance as aesthetic of the pub was nice enough.

Lovely beer garden, nice interior decoration, the alcohol is ... its alcohol there's nothing to debate here. Music was good until like 2am when they wanted to get rid of us probably 😅
