Usually my go to Chinese in East Brighton. However chicken balls have been very soggy last few orders either not cooked long enough or need less batter.

Disgusting !! The chicken curry looked like it was not fresh but been frozen and defrosted when it arrived it was jelly/ stoggy on the top and runny liquid at the bottom. Parts were cold , the egg rice was luke warm. The meat rolls were greasy. I phoned up and explained - rude and u helpful so called manager. I asked to speak to owner who wouldn’t come to the phone as she said she doesn’t speak English. I asked for refund and was told I would only get refund for the curry and that I would be charged £1.80 for the driver to bring it to me. I will never use this place again- I was a regular customer !!

Dont even try and order during busy times . You get placed on hold and takes 10min or 3 additional calls to get through. Use to be good when called Dumplings Chinese . Happy family not a chance !!!!

Fantastic food, great service even ringing to check for allergies. Can’t recommend them enough. Thank you!

The kung po sauce was the same as the crispy chilli chicken sauce. No complimentary prawn crackers, unlike other takeaways. Loads of msg in sauce.

I love this place. First ordered from them when they left leaflets at Sussex Uni and ordered again recently. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The delivery drivers are always super friendly and the food arrived early both times. I love their spring rolls, super crispy and flavourful.

Delicious food, good portion size and reasonably priced. Collected our food and they cooked the squid fresh on my arrival to ensure quality. We have been a few times since it changed hands and it has got better and better.Would definitely recommend Happy Family to anyone.

What happened! Was a regular customer and loved it, after not ordering for many months decided it was time to fork out and treat ourselves to what we used to love. Arrived in good time as usual but it was as though we had ordered from a completely different Chinese takeaway! Lack of flavour in everything and the sauces were thin and watery, nothing like the sweet full of flavour thick sauces we used to get, chicken was not crispy like it once was and the chips were all bits that were hard and black while the rice was a dry lump and the spring rolls have shrunk and the bag of prawn crackers half the portion of what they used to be. Now I know that the prices of ingredients have gone up which also reflects in the price change of the menu so why alter what was great to scrimp and make more profit. So so disappointed and certainly won’t be ordering again as wouldn’t want to chance spending a small fortune on sub standard food. Such a shame :-(
