Poor service during the meal in the restaurant area with the chef not understanding customer service/satisfaction but the staff in the bar area was

We organised our annual scuba diving pros night out here and the service we received from Lola was absolutely incredible. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was great. I only wish I had ordered the vegan black pudding as that looked phenomenal good although the chicken parfait was good. I really think that only mentioning Lola once is not enough so Lola thank you so much for making our evening special.

This is a rating of the restaurant. We had a group dinner here and it was pleasant. The food was delicious, although the service was a bit tardy. Otherwise all good.

Quirky hotel with a really nice and unique room. What has let this down is the service was not what I would expect from a £300 room. We had to pay £30 extra when we got there for a roll up camp bed despite our daughter being on the booking. The mattress was paper thin, and our daughter, who is a great sleeper, was up all night. The least we would’ve expected was that £30 to be refunded but no. Breakfast ok. Overpriced experience overall.

Went for Mother's day. Absolutely fantastic Couldn't eat all the meat due to one of the best Buffet starters I've eaten. Asked one of the waitresses "Roberta" for a tissue to wrap it up for a treat for my Dog came out with a carton and small bag straight away. She Absolutely made my day. Staff were all fantastic. Brilliant Day out Made all the better with my Visit to the Hotel du Van. Only popped in for an evening drink on Saturday and ended up staying in the bar area for several hours. Bar staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming,as per usual.

A 2 day Brighton break in January 24. I decided to pay the extra for a junior suite as a king size bed is a must for us. Huge bed and spacious room. Plentiful, quality amenities including nespresso coffee machine and the best shower I’ve ever used. Roll top bath in the room. The whole hotel is clean, stylish and clearly well looked after. The staff are professional and friendly. Brighton is a bit of a foodie place these days so we didn’t eat in the Hotel. I’ve no doubt it will be excellent in keeping with the hotel standard. We did have a nightcap in the lovely hotel bar. (24hrs for guests)We parked at the very secure lanes car park a 5 min walk away. £40 for 24 hours…. I’m sure there is cheaper but you’ll have a bigger walk. There is a drop off at the front of the hotel.Perfectly situated for the Lanes and the seafront. My only suggestion…. I tried to call the hotel and was bombarded with options which ultimately send you to the website…grrr. I know every business does it. How about a call reception option? If you can’t answer…. Don’t.We look forwards to returning.

Nestled in the heart of the vibrant and eclectic Lanes, the hotel's distinctive architecture and chic, styled interiors offered both charm and elegance. Nice hotel. Have stayed here twice a year apart. Rooms clean and spacious. Everyone seems pleasant. My stay was very quick so no feedback on the food and I also didn’t have much interaction with the staff so can’t really comment but say it’s nice overall.

Went for Sunday lunch. Food was good and generous portions. The option to have 2 or 3 courses would be good rather than fixed at 3. Not cheap but enjoyable.

The barman at HDV in Brighton was incredibly attentive and made the best bourbon sours we’ve ever had! Thank you! However, a few points to note. There is no parking available at all. Parking in Brighton costs £40 a day, even on a public holiday, beware! It is possible to drop your bags/guests at the door outside, but check. I’ve stayed at HDV in various locations for several years but I have to say the formula has become tired and desperately requires updating. Additionally, it was disappointing to discover the restaurant and bar were both unavailable for guests during our stay on 25 December. Perhaps we were a little late reserving a Christmas Day meal but being told we couldn’t even have a quick drink in the bar at 2:15pm was disappointing. Please let guests access the facilities for which we’ve paid!Rooms: Tired, requiring updating.Food & drinks: Limited availability.

Was there for an office party the food was not too bad for a large group. It didn't wow me but these office do's can be like that. All three staff were lovely. Solid place would go back for sure.
