We used to be regulars here but haven't been for a while. I cannot believe how much it's gone downhill. New management? Our burger buns were all burnt. I had a blue cheese burger with hardly any cheese. It's all SO overpriced. No coleslaw or salad on the side with the burgers anymore. The pattie was way too thick. The onions rings which used to be the best we've ever had undercooked batter with raw onion inside. The staff aren't great anymore apart from the blonde lady who has always been lovely. It came to £84 for three burgers, chips, a portion of 5 onion rings, two beers and a gin and tonic, what a rip off! No dessert suggestion made, but at that point we'd had enough. This whole 'shrinkflation' thing in effect here. So disappointing. Go to Five Guys instead.

Our family came here for twins 18th birthday, mixture of ages. Could not fault the staff food and atmosphere. Staff friendly and happy to help and even though there was lots of us all our food was perfect. Would definitely recommend!!!!!!!

Portions are big. My grandson is 11 so he doesn’t have anything offthe child menu. He has the main menu. We both had the hot dogs You could not cut them or break they were so well done break them to eat them and also I think they should let people know they are filled with chilli because obviously my grandson couldn’t eat it. It was too hot.

Fun surroundings, cartoons playing, music and film / music memorabilia. Cosy booths and also high stool bar seating area. Hit and miss food. Limited range of what you would typically expect in a diner. Chicken a little over done, over seasoned dirty fries dish and some undercooked chips but other food very much enjoyed. We have been before and the club sandwiches and milk shakes were great, maybe just an off day in the kitchen.

Good drinks deals - nice staff - burnt burger. Burns were burnt, I asked the waitress if they were meant to be black and she just giggled.

Visited today for ‘Brunch’. Ex-US resident so always up for a decent American experience. Diner was half full and admitted straight away. The theming of the diner is excellent, maybe trying a little too hard, but in a fun way. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food - this is where things fall down a little. After order we had to wait 35moms for it to arrive. A long time. Had they been packed that might have been acceptable, but half full it was too long. I ordered Cowboy pancakes which promised a ‘stack’ of pancakes but needed up being 3, with 5 blueberries, the smallest pot of maple syrup I’ve seen and a couple of rashers of bacon. The pancakes were not fresh made - I suspect they are store bought? It was tasty but just not as good as it should have been. Overall - not a great ‘American’ breakfast. Also had a smoothies which was fine - but not worth £5.50. Partner had a cooked breakfast which was a little better, but had the bottomless coffee which actually became a little annoying as it meant stopping the waitress every 10 mins to get a refill. Either they need to give you a pot of coffee from the start or make sure they are coming around every 5 mins to refill. Certainly in any American diner in the US, you wouldn’t have to be asking for constant refills. Overall price was £30 which is an OK price for 2 people. However I also feel it should have been better food. Would only return in certain circumstances.

Wanted a dessert to finish off the day, so visited JB's American Diner. We come to Brighton every year and usually visit this diner at some point. It was fairly quiet during our evening visit - probably due to the weather and late in the season. We have been here before when it has been crowded and found it to be a little too noisy then, but this time was more pleasant. Service was good and the food we chose excellent. The decor alone makes this a pleasant place to visit, but best when not too crowded.

This was the highlight to my visit in Brighton!!What a very well done American Diner, I felt I was transported to the USA. They have created an amazing decor using all sorts of memorabilia including Interstate signs, celebrity statues and frames, sports logos, flags, show pieces and lots more. It’s totally worth spending some time here. We came for some drinks and starters and weren’t disappointed. Staff are very friendly and do their best to ensure you are taken care of. Looking forward to coming back next time !

I typically don't leave a review of a place and this place deserves it! Such a cool place and what an amazing staff. Everyone that took care of me was smart as well as kind. Would love to come back every time I'm in town.

Love popping here for a bite to eat with the partner and kids every time in Brighton, the atmosphere is incredible and food has never failed to let us down yet ) Highly recommend the Vegan Hotdog or the Vegan Dirty Fries ?. The staff are incredible aswell as soon as you arrive you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome, and if you have children it’s such a great location aswell as the the TV always has Tom and Jerry playing whilst you wait and have a drink while food is prepared. The staff also go out the way if you any questions and are very good around children ?.So if looking for that perfect American style dinner than honestly JBs is the best in town and any surrounding areas and the pricing is great value.

It would have originally been a five star review, but this diner has gone downhill recently. Plus they don't bother to resolve complaints. The milkshakes taste dull compared to how they used to taste. They also got rid of the Bounty milkshake and a couple of the others, so I'm no longer going here for the milkshakes, like I used to go weekly.

The atmosphere is fantastic especially for my American mummy. Got the theme spot on and such a nice location ?? Lots of fun stuff on the walls to look at. The wait was longer than expected for two hotdogs and the restaurant was pretty empty so that was a bit unfortunate, but once it arrived it was all delicious and filling even the fries were really tasty rather than "just fries" like most places ??? I really wish we tried the milkshakes...

Fantastic food. Great decoration. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of it except it was a very long wait for a hotdog and fries. Thankfully it was definitely worth it. Fries were much easier than other places

We used to love this place, but I’m wondering whether there’s been a change in ownership or management because the quality of the food was so average today. Ordered the classic burger and it was so tasteless I wondered whether I had Covid. There are so many better burgers joints that I couldve chosen - Honest, Five Guys etc. sadly disappointing. Unlikely to return after 15 years of loyalty.
