omg horrid. went in for a drink and lunch.we had to go upstairs and well our feet were sticking to every step because they were so dirty and the hand rails have never seen a cleaning cloth.the tables were dirty.so my advice is GET A CLEANER.and no we did not eat.

Stopped here for food and drink before catching a train. Ordered via app.Long wait for food to arrive resulting us missing our intentded train. Burger was Luke warm. Food arrived before the drink unbelievably, the lad that served me food returned with my drink after I pointed out I'd not received my drink. Cant recommend.

Having stayed at the clean Wetherspoons in Great Yarmouth the week before with their excellent staff we was shocked at the standard of the Bright Helm, the staff we saw all looked as if they did not want to be at work, had to tell one where my beer was in the fridge, lot of rubbish on the floors, looks like they should hire a cleaner, one of the staff wiped a table and just through bits of rubbish on the floor with no attempt to pick them up,we were in for lunch but swiftly decided to give that a miss, this pub needs to employ some management to knock this place into shape,no surprise to see they are only rated quite low in Brighton on Trip Adviser, wish we had looked at the reviews before going in,avoid, much cleaner better places in Brighton

Another tired Spoons that needs some TLC. Stairs looked like they had not seen a hoover or duster for a while ! Friendly enough staff, usual fayre, but it's cheap.

Wouldn’t expect anything more than your local average spoons. Service was a bit slow, tables needed to be cleaned and the toilets need updating. Staff were nice and food was good.

Tables not cleared. We had to move the remains of the previous occupants meals/drinks onto an already uncleared table so that we could sit down. All the surrounding tables had not been cleared and were in the same state when we left 45 minutes later. Couple sat at next table had to ask for the table to be cleared when their food was brought. No effort made to wipe table. Food was as expected cheap pub food. Visited ladies toilet, no toilet roll in 2 of the cubicles, no soap in soap dispensers. Spoke to duty manager who could not be bothered to make eye contact. Apparently they are always short staffed. This is the type of place that gives Wetherspoons pubs a bad name. When they are good they are good this is the worst Wetherspoons I have ever had the misfortune to visit. How they can get a 5 for food hygiene I have no idea.

Popped into this busy pub with family friends to get some lunch. Decided to avoid at all costs. The soiled carpet , which looked as if it have never been cleaned or hoovered was littered with scraps of toilet paper and splashed with spilled ketchup and mayonnaise and gods knows what else …disgusting Suddenly didn’t feel hungry and left pronto before we caught anything

We stopped here on the way back to our hotel early evening mid week. It was quite busy. A number of food items were not available (no chicken for example), however the food we got was fine and the staff were very friendly. Good value overall but Wetherspoons overall need to get better.

Thursday curry club. No bhajis (although charged for them) no mango chutney but not told that by waitress. Naan bread and chips missing had to go and ask where they were. Garlic naan was not fully cooked so cold and greasy, poppadoms were practically inedible. The whole meal was just a cold disappointing mess. The staff seemed to need training in custoner service. Still waiting for my bhaji refund through app. Eat somewhere else is my advice.

Brighton, Busy day, Sun is sort of shining...Have a drink we thought. So we popped in for a couple of drinks. Wetherspoon's are usually cheap and cheerful. This place however is not. It wasn't too busy lots of food going out the bar wasn't overly busy. So, as we do, ordered our drinks on the App. Waited 10 mins...no drinks, another 5 still no drinks. In all this time the bars was empty or maybe 1 or 2 people at it. Went to see where our drinks were and the bar person looked on the till, saw the order then realised the on line order hadn't shown on their system. She then pressed a button and, Hey Presto it appeared. Needless to say we only had one drink. Not inpressed with the place.

Visited on the 30th May for breakfast. My partner and I ordered the large breakfast which when it arrived was stone cold and had congealed eggs and soggy toast on the plate. I complained to the staff and they said they would bring replacements. To our amazement the 2nd breakfasts apart from the hash browns were both cold again and not fit for consumption. Disgusting!! My partner took his back to the bar area and complained again and I was offered a refund and the manager apologised and said she would be speaking or killing the kitchen staff. Seems like Wetherspoons has gone down hill. Not a pleasant experience.

We ordered two meals one was only Luke warm the other was cold and missing ingredients. I chose to eat mine 20 minutes later the other meal came out Luke warm not even hot. Tables was sticky and not cleaned . The place wasn’t even that busy . But the good point was the toilets was clean.

On the main drag from the station, it is extremely busy. Couldn't enjoy it as we were perched up on stools by the window, and no one was willing to move out the way, so we did not stay long after finishing our drinks

We, four of us, ate In here yesterday, nice enough pub, nice beer and no complaints about soft drinks, my wife's chicken was fine, daughters burger fine, her friends Garlic bread thing appeared a bit tough but she was happy, my Sirloin Steak was superbly cooked but came out cold, chips were Luke warm, pea's cold, mushroom cold, steak cold! This was a great shame as I love a Wetherspoons, ate it anyway (rather quickly as was starving), next time we're in Brighton we're very likely to give it another go due to it's proximity to the beach, hopefully mine will be hot next time

I've worked in hospitality & I've never written a bad review before but this place is disgusting. We popped in for a family breakfast & all 4 of us were given the most awful food. 2 of us waited longer for food which they must've left on the pass because it was microwaved & sent to us. Scabby bacon, stale pancakes & awful hash browns. Should be ashamed of themselves for serving such tripe. Waste of money. Don't get me wrong, I know these places are not 5 star but I've never had such awful food in one.
