We loved this place and had a lovely lunch here. The starters were amazing, especially the corn cakes, and the veg laksa and beef rendang were tasty and everything their website promised - fresh, spicy and sweet. Lovely service from start to finish and the room was lively, with a great Saturday vibe.

absolutely disgusting and the staff are incredibly rude, would not come ti the table after trying to flag them down for 20 minutes due to our meals being inedible then when they did come over they only offered us a new meal when they knew we was leaving and forced us to pay for the untouched food. could have been easily solved if their incapable staff had just come over when the food was first given to us. in addition to this the owner wouldn’t not even come over to the table why trying to settle this issue. Nice ambience but really lacking in food quality and service. The restaurant is within a lovely location and has an inviting atmosphere. However, the food quality was poor - very fatty duck and poor quality chicken. The taste was also lacking. Could taste the coconut milk but not much else. There are many amazing Thai restaurants in Brighton and Hove and this certainly isn’t one of them. While the staff were friendly, they lack good customer service skills and sadly didn’t appreciate feedback at the time. Also , just to note, the toilets appeared to have a mould issue on the pipes. If you are looking for a good Thai in Brighton, I suggest you look elsewhere. This isn’t one of them sadly.

I have had a takeaway from this restaurant a couple of times before without writing a review. Today, however, I felt compelled. The food is actually delicious. I haven't yet had a meal I did not enjoy. Value for money though, well, that is something else. I ordered a takeaway. Phad Thai with prawns. One of my favourite dishes. Basically stir fried noodles with prawns, the national dish of Thailand. Sadly there appears to be a national prawn shortage or possibly the national union of prawn pickers have been on strike. Either way I just paid £17 for Phad Thai with just 4 prawns. Yes you heard that right...4 prawns! In what universe is it acceptable to serve a dish with only four small prawns? We're not talking giant jumbo prawns here...oh no! Just your regular bog standard freshwater prawns. The sort you often see in M&S adverts when the chef is making his own version of Phad Thai...these are not just prawns, they are M&S prawns. Except the guy in the M&S ad puts more than four bloody prawns in his dish! Sorry, having never eaten inside this restaurant I cannot vouch for the prawn allocation when dining in. I like to think you get more than four prawns. But really, four prawns in a prawn dish (for which I paid an extra £3) works out to £0.75 per prawn! That is a disgrace to be perfectly honest and as such the review for this restaurant is worth only 3 stars. It is a shame as the food was OK.

One of the best Pat Thai I have ever had! Love the display of the dish and mixtures of the flavors. It is one of those dishes that will stay in the memory. Highly recommend! And it is wonderful that they mark all the calories along with the dish!(One side note: the paper straw got soft so it was not possible to scoop out the passion fruit seeds in the shake)Second time in the restaurant: a little disappointed that all the sauces are the same one with fish cake, cauliflower, and Pat thai.

I would definitely recommend Longrain, we were instantly met with a smiling face and politely asked to wait for a moment while our table was set up. The service was efficient and friendly. The cocktails (I recommend the iCloud) were lovely as was the atmosphere and decoration. The food was the standout, it was incredible. We started with the satay chicken and tofu both of which exceeded our expectations of what satay should taste like! My partner ordered the Tofu Panang Curry, which had a beautiful balance of flavour and is great for the milder palate. I ordered the chicken jungle curry, while knowing what to expect I was blown away. It was spicy and creamy but only to a medium level. I 100% recommend eating here, as all the servers are lovely and the food is delicious!

Really wanted to visit here after seeing all the staff enjoying themselves through the window at Pride! The food was really lovely! (A little pricey tbh) fresh, tasty, and beautiful presentation! The staff were really friendly. The place looks a little worn out and the loo was quite shoddy, but at least it was clean. Will definitely come again

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had simply for it’s wholesome and bold flavours.Chandra is truly passionate about what he does and how he brings his unique flare and twist to Kemptown. An absolute must on your list when you come to brighton.

I just got a mango sticky rice to takeaway. It was delicious and the portion size was good for the price (£7.50). I’ll definitely be back to dine in.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan and vegetarian optionsKid-friendliness: Chilled/quiet space where you can take a child.

Thankfully we had the forethought to book a table for dinner on Pride Saturday! While we always enjoy Thai food, this meal stood out for its quality.

Yes, we would go again. Booking online was easy. We arrived early and it was not an issue. Near bars for pre/after dinner drinks. Parking is where you can find it and chargeable. But easy to get to if you are staying in Brighton. Two minutes walk to the beach and the Sea life end. Staff were very friendly. No delays or waiting for drinks/food. Staff were great and explained all. Fast service. Asked if allergies. Drinks arrived immediately. We sat in the window so nice to people watch. Food was lovely (the restaurant came recommended by family that live in Brighton) The prawn crackers were so delicious, we took some with us. Clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere. Has a WC. All al very good experience. Thank you Longrain

Great authentic Malay food, the flavour of the rendang was delectable! Star anise and lengkuas, coconut and serai being apparent. Chili was not Malaysian hot. Compromised for western palate maybe. Nonetheless delicious. Other dishes like tempeh also very tasty. I will definitely come again when I’m Brighton. Also, the staff were kind and attentive, especially Syafik, but really everyone there is great!

I stopped by for an impromptu , delicious Thai soup.Amazed by the size and the taste, I stayed and ordered more. The waiter and owner mega attentive. The bathroom clean. The location perfect with floor to ceiling windows allowing for light to come in and bring this nicely decorated space to life .Overall a very homely experience I will repeat. My only criticism would be that the squid could well be actual big squid pieces in a batter (like they do in some asian / chinese restaurants) as battered squid rings felt a bit underwhelming and not the greatest choice at £9. The taste was good but i woud only order that one again as a side or an afterthought. The rest was fabulous.I will be back to try the rest.Very satidfactory experience.
