Hot, tasty food, nice staff, great margaritas. I've been coming here for a while. The food gets better. Don't listen to the bad reviews.

Came here with my family. Food is delicious, in particular the chips. Waiters were helpful and the food came quite quickly. A bit pricey for a burger but it was definitely worth it.

First impressions from the outside and when walking in and being seated almost immediately were good, but sadly that is where the positives stopped. Trying to keep it brief, the Children's menu is one item - Just one burger option. However, upon asking, you can also get Chicken Nuggets, which were duly ordered. Starting with this meal being the best, the chips were overcooked and hard, the chicken nuggets were anaemic and pretty ghastly, but she did manage to eat those at least. The drinks for the table consisted of a milkshake, which frankly was daylight robbery, at near on £5 I would have expected it to have seen a dollop of ice cream, not just thin, vanilla flavoured milk. And at £2.75 for a diet coke, served in the can may I add, not much better. As for the food, we had 3 burgers. One turned up so wet that water was running out of the paper (no plates here) before it was even unwrapped. It was so salty, he struggled to eat it. The other 'edible' burger was also extremely salty but generally speaking just poor texture and massively lacking in flavour. The other one got sent back, because when a burger is requested to be medium, one does not expect it to be mooing it's way off the table as this one was. Medium is open to interpretation, admittedly, but this was raw, blatantly raw - Which may I add is pretty risky with ground beef, and may explain why the person on the table who also ate a medium burger absolutely destroyed the toilet later that day. Management did offer to replace the raw burger, but having seen the size of it (small) and the presentation we chose not to replace it and go hungry instead. We weren't charged for it, one small blessing. Credit it where it is due, the rosemary chips were actually very good - Luckily. The toilets absolutely stank, there's no doubting that. Not sure if an unclean or a sewage issue, didn't stay down there long enough to check but... just ew. The service was not great, it was very lacklustre at best, all very uninterested, and yet when the bill came there was a 12.5% service charge!! By this point we just wanted out of there, so didn't argue, but wow. How you can add a service charge when the table have had to send food back due to it being raw, I don't know. Also worth pointing out we were not the only table that sent food back whilst there. All in all, it was £60 for 2 barely edible paper wraps of salty slop, a few basic drinks and some chips. I will never set foot in this establishment again.

You’d think a burger & chips is a fairly straightforward meal to get right and to the guys at ‘Patty & Bun’ Brighton, you’d be right. However, don’t take it for granted! Over the past few months I’ve (and my better half) had a notion for burger & chips and have visited various establishments both high end and high street. To say we have been disappointed would be an understatement. Whether it’s a bloody burger when asked for WD or (the common complaint) soft, luke warm chips, obviously not served fresh! This is where Patty and Bun have excelled themselves, crispy lightly salted chips and a tasty, juicy (not bloody, given my choice) burger, commendable. This is now our go to place for a guilty pleasure from start to finish.

Absolutely fantastic food here highly recommend the Smokey Robinson it was phenomenal. Brilliant service and big shoutout to Dom for being super friendly and attentive. The rosemary chips were so crispy and tasty, personally would’ve loved a bit more rosemary as the burger was so flavourful but still 10/10 experience. Great music too!

Visited here before going to the theatre. We had wanted to go to Honest Burgers but they were too busy, so opted for here instead. While I really liked my burger (I chose a veggie option and it was a very pleasant difference to have a veggie burger that tasted vegetarian rather than a meat imitation!), I was shocked by the service and the price point. I'm pretty sure my burger, fries and (non-alcoholic) drink cost me £23.50. This doesn't seem too unreasonable but it was served to me in a manner that was no different than eating McDonald's. The burger was served in paper wrap (no plate) and we were not given any cutlery. I found it quite ridiculous that there was a service charge when service was no different to any fast food outlet. The food was enjoyable but it felt like I was grabbing a quick burger in a takeaway, even though I was paying 'going out for dinner' prices. Wouldn't rush to return unless prices were reduced.

Decent menu with some unusual combinations. Impressed they offer to cook the burgers however you like which is pretty unusual in the UK. My wife ordered the lamb burger medium and I ordered beef burger special “as rare as possible”. Unfortunately my wife’s lamb came very rare and my beef was medium, far from rare. Bit of a let down. The food was possibly the greasiest food I’ve ever eaten in my life which was a little unnecessary I think and meant the bun disintegrated shortly after being delivered. Delivered directly on to the table, wrapped in paper but no plate and no tray which meant the grease ended up all over the table. Not very impressed with that at all. Overall tasty food but not cooked accurately and incredibly greasy. I may come again, I may not.

A lovely little burger restaurant, great food and great service. Been here twice now and will definitely be back again when I’m next in the area!

They don't use plates, they serve you small wrapped burgers on to pieces of brown paper. All I could taste of the chips was salt. It was one of the poorest burgers I have had anywhere. I've since looked at the website and the pictures of their burgers look lovely! So disappointing. Such a waste of money.

The rosemary chips were THE BEST. Gorgeous crunch. Yum The burgers themselves were delicious too. The waiter helped me decide and I'm glad I went with her suggestion. All the little additions in the burger such as pickled courgettes and fried aubergine made it truly scrumptious. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to fill up our water before we left. Reasonably priced too!
