Very useful area in town to find a meal and drink that is not too far away from the local buses and other things. A good collection of main meals and drinks and helpful waitresses there for stuff to order, not been before however would try again in another season

Beautiful art deco style pub. I've seen it on a Sunday at noon when it's more relaxed and then again on a Saturday night when it's really loud and a bit more hyped up. Not great for a chat with a pal when it's like that to be fair. The Sunday roast looks really good. It's an institution. Just choose your moment.

The service, food and vegan selection is excellent, seitan sandwich was so good! Just the vibe of the place wasn't great, suspiciously dead during a busy Saturday when we visited

Took a while to get quite an expensive cocktail but otherwise nice decor and good atmosphere. Nice touch with the watermelon ?

We popped in here for a cheeky little Sunday lunch, and what a great little find.I was surprised this quirky venue wasn't busier than it was...Although our initial greeting was a bit surly, the staff actually turned out to be very friendly. We didn't have to wait ages for our food, and I have to say my Haddock and Chips was delicious. The fries were dusted with a pepper of some sort and were very tasty...the batter on the haddock was crispy and not too soggy at all, very very enjoyable. Oh, and minted peas...what a blast from the past!Girlie went for a hamburger, which was stacked with goodies, and was more than enough for her appetite. The background music was just right, playing some proper mum tunes...not too noisy or intrusive, not too quiet, it suited the atmosphere just right. Why only 4 stars? Well, the duty manager promised to email details of Christmas menus etc for girlies firms Christmas do, and as of yet, nothing has arrived....shame.

This use to be a beautiful pub decorated to a high standard in an art deco style. Now it's run down and the furnishing are tired, lots of the original features have gone. Such a shame.

Too expensive, this was the most expensive pub I went in at a weeks holiday in Brighton, and I went in a lot. I don't mind places that are expensive if they offer something special, but nothing special here for me.

Lovely roast. Reasonably priced and had vegetarian option for roast also.Had to wait a little while for it to get to the table though.

Nice friendly pub, with good service, and good food. I had sausage and mash which was a little on the salty side, but tasted absolutely fine. All on one level so good access children friendly.

Lovely spot for lunch, good burgers, halloumi fries and decent fish and chips. The onion rings were a bit of a disappointment...

A lovely little pub with a good atmosphere - the live jazz band was a nice touch. We ordered Sunday roasts which were very tasty, but the roast potatoes weren't quite up to scratch.

Love this place. My wife is Vegan and they offer a good range of Vegan options considering they do not advertise it. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is good. One of my favourite places in the Laines
