Stopped doing cash back and cash machine is almost always empty. Staff would rather escalate tension with a frustrated customer than offer any kind of help. Uses old self checkouts that are not very good despite having new ones installed. Would rather shop anywhere else in Brighton at this point.

I would like to give zero but it's not possible, every time I go to the cashier to pay for the food any staff looks at you badly in the hope that you will understand that. Shame

Completely useless. Ordered via whoosh, expected delivery within an hour. Two hours pass, no update on the site, no contact. I call to find out, they say to wait another hour, still nothing so I cancel. Next morning I try again, two hours no update so I call again. They say they'll get back to me within an hour. No call back so I call again (4th time) and they say 'no update, we'll let you know when there is one'. It wasn't until I said I was switching to another chain did I get a very perfunctory 'sorry'. Absolutely pointless endeavour, and the kicker is they can't be bothered to give my money back for another 3-5 working days (but were happy to take it and not provide the service).Just avoid Tesco if you can, the service is simply not worth the hassle.

I was loitering outside as my (for legal reasons) acquaintances went in to buy some supplies, the outside was clean, the crack head spoke good English, but some random bonehead took great offence to me being friendly. Luckily a random dog appeared and was friendly, I think his name was RJ, but that might have been the person injecting himself, I don’t think he had diabetes come to think of it! But they were both friendly

Staff here are joke ! Went this morning I needed some stuff and tobacco. This staff named Tony as soon as I said excuse me , he mumbled and that already made me uncomfortable. I only called him after waiting few minutes. I said I would have gone to self checkout if I didn’t need tobacco .. no response , he looked very angry, and I shouldn’t give him this explanation. Weird thing normally security guy rings the bell but this morning security guy saw me but just walked off. Most of them are miserable and and normally I don’t care because I work in hospitality too so I know it’s stressful but every time they make me feel like not to shop there. It’s convenient as it’s close to my work and go there often. I know Tesco is a big company and couple of unhappy costumer doesn’t make any difference but would Be nice to shops with happy people working there. Most of them are so miserable wonder why they even bother to come for work. Or work somewhere else if you not happy.

Security was more helpful than the staff! I was at the self check out with a energy drink, needed approval, the guy and the girl behind the tills were just chatting to eachother, the girl looked at me 3 times and still didn't bother to help. Had to ask the security as he walked past, he actually helped.
