“This is a hidden gem of a Thai restaurant in Brighton. Not in the city centre but well worth the journey to East Kemptown which is close to the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Best bus is the number 7 which stops just after the hospital and then it’s a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. It’s a small place and booking is recommended at peak times but it is well worth the journey. The best service - friendly and truly professional. A family business dedicated in looking after its customers. What really impressed me was the variety of Thai dishes. The menu had grills and steamed dishes that I have never seen in Brighton before. Usually it is noodles, and a few curries but the selection here is incredible and so excellently cooked.Loved the Papaya salad. The marinated chicken was not spicy. It is their signature dish and highly recommended. They also do take away.It is licensed with very reasonably priced wines and Thai beer as well as a selection of stronger alcohol. If you are prepared to walk or get a bus or taxi to this gem, you will not be disappointed.Equally important is the lovely ambience. Truly relaxing experience.Highly recommended!”

“Lovely food, friendly service but is very slow - Waited almost 40 min for food and when it arrived some dishes were almost cold. Still worth a try.”

“I'm so glad I discovered the Kanok Thai restaurant on a recent 4 day visit to Brighton. I ate there three nights. It would have been four, had the restaurant not been closed on Wednesday's. My friends and I tried many different dishes and all were very tasty. Michael was very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted, including some home made spicy chili oil condiment. I will definitely return to the Kanok when I am back in Brighton”

“Great little restaurant in the heart of Brighton lanes. Great selection of food, the food was delicious and full of flavour. Great place to go with friends to eat and chat. Staff were warm and attentive. I wasn't too keen on my cocktail as the alcohol overpowered any other taste, but other than that we couldn't fault the experience and would recommend a visit to anyone.”

“Amazing food. Ambiance is a little bit old fashion just can say not my style maybe. The place is a little bit allover unarrnaged. Apart from that can go to try some delicious thai food. A bit expensive from other restaurants when compared everthing.”

“I had a lovely time at Lucky Khao. I had booked a table for 2 but then my partner was ill so in good old romantic Gassion I went on my own. The food was amazing and so tasty. I had the spring rolls, Khao Soi (coconut chicken curry to me) and chicken larb. I left so full and satisfied. I’ve added some photos to show but didn’t take many as didn’t want to look weird sitting at the table. All the staff I came across were friendly and so lovely. Izzy. B served me and she was so friendly and approachable and guided me on the dishes. (I think that’s who served me as her name was on the receipt so am hoping I’m right. Thank you so much Lucky Khao for a great evening. My other half wasn’t so happy she missed out!!”
