The woman who owns this pub allowed my son to stay after I called her making concerns my son hadn’t been home for two days due to rebelling! He is 16years old!!! After a very very rude Julie telling me my son wasn’t going to be kicked outside to the streets when I corrected her he has a mother and home to come too and I would be reporting this to the police she put the phone down on me! Her attitude was disgusting whilst I tried to reason with her from one mother to anther! She laughed at me and told me there’s nothing she can do! Let’s just hope this never happens to your son Julie!!!!

Been there for fish and chips and it was lovely and the staff was great. So we went again for a Sunday roast and again food was lovely but one of the staff members was extremely rude. It was like she couldn’t be bothered to make an effort to serve us, making us feel as if we were a nuisance. It’s a shame as I like this pub and the food, but I will no longer be going due to this quality of service.

Celebrated my husband’s birthday at the Barley Mo last night. Lovely cosy table in the corner. Good beer and range of food, some sourced from local venues nearby. Friendly staff and home from home atmosphere. Recommended.

We’ve been here twice now and one bartender is extremely rude! There was a mishap with ordering and they made us feel so uncomfortable flagging it. Such a shame one unpleasant staff member can sour the whole otherwise lovely experience.

Really friendly staff who were very helpful. Had pies and food from Thai, all amazing. A real pub with wonderful atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Good choice on all 3 menu's.

Walked in to see if by chance there was a table. They kindly let us take a table that was booked out in an hours time on the understanding we would order straight away and leave by the booking time. We each had a roast. One Wildshroom Sunday Pie and one Beef. Both of thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend. Thank you.Vegetarian options: Absolutely lovely.

Called for lunch. The only menu choices were various pies. We each ordered a veggie pie. Very tasty but served unheated plates

NO FRIGGIN MASH. However, the pie was quite tidy. Couldn’t help myself, I licked the plate clean ! Overall some good mucky grub.

I feel like I'm not qualified to write this review, as you'll figure out after reading.Went into this pub with my husband last night (Monday, 6 November) for a pint and some food. When we walked in, it was rather empty. Three employees were talking to each other, and not about business. All looked under 30. We were waiting for some acknowledgement of our presence - a hello/hiya ... maybe even just a glance. As we walked closer, they were still just talking to each other. About 3 minutes passed and someone walked towards us, no greeting. We asked if we can just sit anywhere and order food, and a quick, dismissive: "yes, menus are on the table" came out, and the worker quickly went back to talking to his friends. We sat down, looked at the menus. 1 menu was from Pizza Face (across the street), another from Kemp Thai (a 5 minute walk away). The last menu was pies seemingly from their kitchen. The three workers kept talking and laughing with each other, staying in their own world. When we realized that Kemp Thai is just down the street, we got up and left.Whoever owns "The Barley Mow", I hope you realize that you're paying your workers to basically chit chat with each other. We obviously were there for the first time. We didn't expect table service ... but we expected SOME kind of service. Luckily Kemp Thai was awesome.

Only had a short stay on a Friday evening, but from our time there it felt like a really well run pub. Lovely staff with a good atmosphere!
