We followed all the great reviews and decided to visit Vital ingredients for some Caribbean food . Guys give it a go , you won’t regret it . I had oxtails and my family went for jerk chicken . The portions were really generous and the food super yummy . Great hospitality and friendly staff . We don’t live in the area and they all made us feel so welcome and to top it up the price was really good . Many thanks to all of you . Keep up the good quality . Hannah

It was the best food I’ve ever had. I am originally from Las Vegas and we do have plenty of places in the city where they serve Caribbean food. This is by the farthest the most authentic Caribbean food you will ever find. Everything and everyone in there made me feel like family. Great experience!!!

While in Brighton, we experienced a true culinary revelation when we discovered The Vital Ingredient restaurant at The Mesmerist. They offer a menu with a wide range of super tasty authentic Caribbean dishes, cooked with great passion and talent!Even for me, a staunch vegetarian, there were many excellent options!To make a pun, dinner at The Vital Ingredient gave us a real vital boost for the rest of the day! ?We highly recommend it!

Lovely place situated inside an old pub.Food was excellent and tasted authentic.The staff were incredibly helpful as both my partner and I have vision impairments and staff offered to sit and read menus for us, which we had never experienced before.Will definitely visit again when in Brighton.

We just had a copious, fabulous lunch at The Vital Ingredient in Brighton, UK! We did have high expectations when we went in, but what we got was beyond them. The exquisite taste, the well balanced spices, the variety of the multiple side dishes, the perfect texture of the cod and ackee, the superb presentation of all the dishes were impressive and unforgettable - we will be back for sure!
