A wonderful evening spent in very cosy, unique surroundings with plenty of spooky pictures and ornaments to give a real genuine theme to the place. The staff were excellent and looked after us well, including our dog, making intelligent adjustments to make sure he was also considered. The food was excellent and we all had plenty of food without adding extra sides or even having starters. The food was hot but not spicy and well presented. A wonderful evening out and very reasonably priced considering how well we were looked after.

This restaurant is perfectly witch themed! The staff is also really sweet and caring. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING ONCE AGAIN. No crumbs left! I will be coming here again and again. This was my 4th time and 5th one will be coming very soon! Absolutely delicious ?

Having read some very positive reviews, I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it fell shockingly short of expectations. The decor was interesting, if rather OTT, with lighting so low it was a challenge to read the menu. Thankfully we'd checked it out in advance so the offer of having it read out to us was declined. We started by sharing 'The Sea' where the most prominent feature seemed to be dry bread. There were a couple of pieces of herring. But if there was any caviar, it was extremely well disguised. Two main courses were shared. 'B.C' - a Peruvian inspired chocolate chili dish was a risk that didn't pay off. Very little was eaten - just didn't work for us. 'Little Hooves' seemed to be a safer bet as one of the server's recommendations, but it was a bland stew with over-fried dumplings. Again most was left on the plate. So plenty of room for dessert! We ordered two - a crumble and a brownie. A few minutes after ordering we were told the crumble would need preparing which would take twenty minutes. We cancelled and elected to share the brownie, which was supposed to be floating on a bed of whisky. There was no whisky. When asked about this on checking the bill, our server gleefully informed us that they must have forgot to add it in the kitchen - but the dish was the same price with or without the whisky, so no harm done. Really! Oh, the brownie was okay, hence the extra star.

My husband and I visited The Witchez to celebrate my birthday. It being the end of October there was a great Halloween vibe to the restaurant. I had been with friends once before and found it difficult to describe the experience to my husband, other than to say it is quirky, so he didnt know what to expect. Suffice to say we were not let down on the quirky front. The portions are very generous and neither of us were able to finish our meals which we both enjoyed enormously. The service is lovely.

Amazing amazing amazing From the moment you ring the bell, the welcome, the decor, the service, is outstanding. We had a 5pm sitting, the latest we would book when we tried the day before. We were lucky to have one of the owners encourage us to sample the wine and then talk is through the menu. I'd like to thank her because I'm not overly adventurous and might have chosen something more familiar had she not enthused about their food. We saw lots of dishes as the restaurant filled up and everything looked amazing. The food we had was the best, freshest and tastiest we've eaten in a long time. We highly recommend the Hunter's Stew and the Perogi but to be honest I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. I'm hoping to come back with my family for my birthday and will definitely book in advance. Thank you all for an excellent evening

It's hard to overstate how great this place is. Great cooking, amazing cocktails and lovely people. The massive effort that must go into making a place this personal and warm is why so few places that feel as positive as this, exist. This is a special place to be welcomed and stay a while, with hearty food and kindness.

Located in the Lanes, this is a most unusual dining experience. Macabre and mysterious maybe, but the food, Polish by inspiration, is exciting, delicious and well presented. A very professional operation and most enjoyable.

Excellent meal for two at Thewitchez restaurant! From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. Starters of pickled herring (you have to have the Mad dog shot!!) and the Tetra cheese were wonderful. They had sold out of the Vienna Shnitzel so I opted for a Polish sausage and my partner had the lamb. Lamb was cooked perfectly and was a very generous size, make sure you are hungry if you order it! Bar staff were so lovely and friendly and the owner Ewelina took lots of time explaining the menu and different ingredients and cooking methods. Would highly recommend and return without a doubt.

Oh my goodness, I have been wanting to come here for ages after so many people have recommended it, and we were not disappointed! I booked it as a surprise for my partner’s birthday and the experience start to finish was amazing. All of the staff are the most attentive and lovely people, and one of the owners came over to talk us through the whole menu, recommending dishes to us. The portion sizes are super generous and so full of flavour, and they even brought out a dessert and some delicious hazelnut vodka shots to celebrate my partner’s birthday! Thank you so much for making it special - we can’t wait to come back and will be spreading the word! X

Love this place! The food is delicious, the vibe is amazing, the staff are just so lovely! It’s the perfect spot for a lovely meal for two or more, and you feel like you’re home (expect you don’t have to cook!) highly recommend!!!

Like others we wanted to try something different and this place looked like it would fit the bill. We weren’t disappointed. Hunters stew was really tasty, as were the ‘Little Hooves’ with beef stew. My husband said the brownie was one of the best he’s had, while the mystery dessert, although hadn’t had it before, was lovely (it was sweet pierogies but won’t give away the filling). Also need to give a shout out to the staff who were so friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Brighton. Then give it a try - although would recommend booking!
