It's a shame as this cafe on first look seems great Very holiday vibe over looking the sea Couldn't be better. But once you get past all that the café dinning area I'd pretty dirty . Plus big ques for anything

Cannot review the food as they were only doing take-away. I had messaged on Sunday asking where I could see menu as we were thinking of having lunch there yesterday, Wednesday 12th May, but no reply. We decided to go anyway but we're disappointed. I'm disabled and though I enjoyed seeing the murals in the tunnel etc., I could have done without the trek to and from the car park in Saltdean, only to be disappointed.

The view was lovely. Looking at the reviews & the pictures, we drove 40 min to this place on a beautiful day thinking it is a proper restaurant & we can have a meal but only the kiosk outside with a selection of pastries was open. They don't even do english breakfast! If only their website was more informative...

Lovely find on our walk today from Rottingdean by the beach. Two of my children came with us and they immediately loved it. The cosy sofas and the lovely food. The lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff ❤️ This was our view…

The whole team at Whitecliffs did a fantastic job for our Dad's memorial ceremony yesterday. They rearranged the layout perfectly for us, the buffet was delicious, and the service at the bar was great. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their efforts and hard work meant that our celebration of Dad's life was perfect. And even the sun made an appearance just in time for a beautiful sunset to round things off. Many thanks to Julieanne and Steve and John, Andy, Jade and the chef.

(update Feb 22 - at last visit (2021) it was limited outside seating only and snacks which is SUCH a shame, maybe they've reopened the inside by now, not been for a while as used to love having cooked breakfast and sitting inside with the sea views)Right on the undercliff walk and by a picturesque part of the beach. Beautifully decorated seaside cafe with delicious spread of food on the bar - quiches, cakes etc. Friendly staff, plenty of seating.

The worst service I’ve ever received - and I was stupid enough to give them the benefit of the doubt and go twice. Never again.Awful mediocre food that took ages to receive and was cold and overpriced. Before that, my family and I had to wait 35 minutes for our drinks (and there was only one other table there) because staff just left it on the bar. When I asked “is that our drinks?” the staff said “oh yeah”, and served them to us freezing cold before I said “no, we’re not drinking these cold can you reheat them please?” All staff were like this - the owners were worse, more concerned about schmoozing their friends and relying on the lovely scenic views rather than creating good service. Honestly an embarrassment. And I’m a local - I tell all visiting friends and family not to go here. Such a shame.

Always Loved this venue but sadly let down by limited menu and patchy service.Small selection of Pasty or Quiche served with No option of side orders on paper plates with wooden disposable cutlery £5 each !!All feels a bit shabby no chic and unloved in places . Come on guys !!Thank god it’s dog friendly and the view makes up for it .

Went with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. Since my last visit some time ago a lot of time and effort has been invested in the building. There was ample seating both indoors and outside we opted to sit inside. It’s slightly confusing whether you sit down and give your order or you go to the counter to say what you want. Once we had our orders (2 hot drinks) there was a wait but as they were busy it’s understandable there was a delay) what I found really off putting was the number of dogs that were allowed to wander around. I’m not comfortable around dogs so having my clothing sniffed wasn’t welcomed and on a few occasions it was difficult to have a conversation as said dogs would bark , growl at each other or on two occasions have a scrap. In conclusion I would think twice before going back which is a shame as the location of the cafe is second to none but my experience was blighted by its four legged guests.

Half way through my walk, an ideal place for refreshments, had a hot chocolate, and fantastic fruit cake.No real delay in service, .....as reported elsewhere ! although the cafe was very busy at the time I visited. To my mind being busy is a tribute to the quality of the food !
