We visited for dinner and ate a dips platter and Olympus Grill. The food was authentic (my wife has many Greek relations and really knows), and the service was first class. We will return.

We have visited this restaurant every time we stay in Eastbourne. The food is always delicious and last week was no exception. Starters, meze and main courses are all delicious. The chicken skewers are particularly tender and tasty. Mythos and wine good too. Staff ( Kristina) friendly and funny. A well run restaurant and would not hesitate to recommend.

Had a 5:30pm booking and was abit worried we would be the only ones in the restaurant, but it soon filled up and its clear to see why. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is done very well and feels very fresh and light but also cosy and warm. Staff were very friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing. Just the dips and bread alone is enough to get us to come back for another visit. Menu has a lot of choices but not too overwhelming, and there are a few sharing platters to choose from as well - We almost went for it but wanted to try some of the other meals first, so maybe next time. Overall, a fantastix evening here, with lovely staff and amazing food. Looking forward to our next visit.

We normally go elsewhere for our Saturday Lunch, but we thought we'd try somewhere else & boy ! we were not disappointed !! Everything about this restaurant is gr/eat, the welcome, the lovely glass of very chilled water which arrived at our table, immediately, then our drinks order was taken served within moments. We ordered the dip selection and Beef Stifado and Chicken Souvlaki, which were absolutely delicious and my partner said he'd not eaten such a authentic tasting Stifado, outside Greece & gave it a 10/10 (he has only given 2 other dishes 10/10 in the last 9 years). Everything about the restaurant is spot on, can't fault it !! Will 100% be back

I had visited this restaurant to view the menu as I thought I might like to go there for my birthday dinner and the waitress didn't appear pleased that I was not dining there and then, but we had heard rave reviews so booked later by 'phone. We arrived at 7pm. We were discussing the wine and the waitress said that she would recommend a bottle if we told her our food choices, we declined and she clearly was not pleased. One of our choices of starter was not available, disappointing, but it happens. The calamari was, without doubt, the best I have ever had anywhere, the remaining starters were okay. I was undecided between 2 dishes, she recommended the moussaka, which 2 of us ordered. We were both very disappointed, preferring the one I cook. (Personal preference maybe). The mussels and prawns in wine ordered by one of us was apparently, very good, but the moment she had finished the last mussel, the plate of shells was whisked away despite the fact that she was still eating the remainder of the food. We felt rushed. The bill arrived and paid, but no tip left. Something I have only ever done once before. My son works in hospitality and we are very aware of how staff rely on their tips, but we felt that the waitress had been rude in her manner. We were out of the restaurant by 8:15, feeling very underwhelmed! An extremely disappointing experience.

Another thoroughly enjoyable lunch at this Greek restaurant today with friends. We chose the full Meze experience and all the food was delicious. Staff were very helpful and we are looking forward very much to a return visit.

gr/eat is an amazingly authentic Greek restaurant and worth all the top reviews. The owners have managed to bring the taste of Greece to Eastbourne. We had a family (early) Father’s Day meal and it was everything i’d hoped for. We had the shared (for three) Olympus meat platter. Wow it’s a mountain of meat and there was nothing left. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The lady staff are extremely friendly and the restraint has a real lovely feel to it. Food was good, portion size was small. My only concern is the gentleman that seems to be in charge. The table was booked for an hour and a half as per their website terms, however whilst chatting after our meal, this man came out of nowhere and placed the bill on the table. He didn’t ask how our meal was, nor if we would like the bill. The restraint wasn’t even full so not too sure as to why he felt the need to pressure potential returning customers. The ladies and kitchen staff however were excellent so I couldn’t give one star. -2 stars for that member of staff

Dinner was a birthday treat which was simply superb. Great flavoursome attractively present nourishing food. Lots of variety with new twists on old favourites. Attentive and friendly service. Very reasonably priced. We will be back!

Me and my wife had a dinner reservation here on our first night in Eastbourne. It was a very nice meal, we had lovely starters, mains and a desert. Would recommend the beef stifado! Reasonably priced, would eat here again! Well recommended.

Our second visit to this justifiably highly rated restaurant. Whilst the menu might not be extensive, the food served is top class and as good as anything you will find on a Eastern Mediterranean Greek island. The dips on the platter are all homemade and are delicious, as was my village sausage starter. But do order extra Pitta bread, as you run out of bread before the generous selection of dips are finished. The chicken kebabs were cooked to perfection, with a nice side salad. However I did find the accompanying fries a little to over salted for my taste. So if you are not keen on a lot of salt, then ask for them to be unsalted. Others on our table had the Moussaka, which from our past experience, Greek chefs have different versions of constructing this classic dish. My wife found hers perhaps a little dry this time and lacking enough sauce, but she still enjoyed it. Basically it was cleared plates all round with no room for desserts. A thoroughly enjoyable evening made all the better by good and friendly table service from the staff. As we are local, we will be back.

Visited Gr/eat on a recent 2 night break with my partner. We were blown away by the food - it was honestly the best meal we’ve ever had. We went to a Turkish restaurant on the first night and were also impressed and didn’t think we’d find better, but we did! We had the meze for 2 (£27 each) and we were greeted with dish after dish of delicious food. We live about 2.5 hours away and I honestly think I’d do the drive just to eat there again! Definitely visit Gr/eat when you’re in Eastbourne.
