“Came across this large pub while visiting Eastbourne, have to say wasn’t expecting much but it surpassed all my expectations. Warm, welcoming and friendly service. Breakfast was amazing and the doom bar was top notch too. Have returned since my first visit and it just gets better. The staff all reminded me and treated me as a regular. My family felt the same way. Definitely recommend giving the duke a try when in Eastbourne. Outside area is great to sip some cocktails in sun and watch the action from the air show. Thanks team Duke. Keep up the good work.”

“Really nice staff, but expensive for what it is, drought beer on the £7 average prices, when are not downtown Brighton. The wines the cheapest options you can get. Food is lovely, pork belly was delicious and generous portions of chips.”

“Quirky place, but great food and service, despite being a bit shabby on recent times. Always friendly staff”

“Had a Sunday roast. Good size portions with 3 meat options which you could mix if wanted and one vegetarian option.
Main menu also available.
Roast potatoes were hard and not enjoyable otherwise everything was lovely.
Sadly no stuffing with the chicken and an extra charge for more gravy!
Good friendly service by our server Molly ?”

“Old school gem, great food, my steak & ale pie was to die for, vegetables fresh, not frozen. My wife’s tuna steak was cooked to perfection too. I might add it was nice to see people pop in to enjoy a pint of well kept beer as we enjoyed our delicious meal. No parking buts lots of public parking within reasonable walking distance.”
