My second visit to Wimpy Eastbourne ( my first visit 2 days after opening was bad) but I am sorry to say still disappointing. On entry very freindly reception. Attended to straight away, by friendly chap called Matty.I ordered Wimpy International Grill, and was not impressed. First of all it took 20 mins to arrive. It wasn't very busy (only 3 other sets of customers 2 already eating). Upon arrival the plate was swimming in grease. I thought it was all cooked on a grill and any fat produced was cleared away, but not here. The bacon and patty were oozing grease which ran into the chips and salad. The bendy wasn't bendy, was overcooked (felt like hard sausage) and was very salty. The chips were not crisp just soggy, which I'll never understand as it should be fry and serve up hot and crispy, but these were obviously standing around. The bacon, patty and bendy were too long on the gril, only the egg was exactly as it should be.My vanilla milkshake was fine. It's a shame, it's an attractive environment with friendly staff but for the price you pay, the food was way under par.As a Wimpy fan from the 60's so disappointed.

Nice blast from the past the original quarter pounder and chips tastes as good as it used to the burger sauce is divine. Quick service and friendly staffKid-friendliness: They had ballons and board games for kids while they are waiting ?

Staff lovely, food was good but the manager is a complete tool. Did nothing but mess about on his phone and boss the other staff around in a horrible manner

It had been literally years since I'd even seen a Wimpy's, only to discover a new one pop up between one of the 'golden arches' places and a 'B King.'I was curious as to how much, after not visiting one in almost 20 years, Wimpy's had changed. It would appear "not much" is the honest answer. Firstly, this shop isn't open at 0900, presumably losing much, if not all of the morning breakfast crowd. I came back at 10:00. My order was for their traditional, if not iconic 'all day brekkie' featuring one of Wimpy's iconic 'bendy sausages,' along with fried egg, baked beans (promoted as being of the Heinz brand), a 'somewhat' grilled tomato, an abundance of fries, which in my opinion are far nicer than those sold by their neighbours, and two small slices of bacon. Much to my surprise, everything was freshly hot, except for the bacon. It was actually cold. Seriously cold - as if it had been cooked earlier, and partially reheated when ordered.I enjoyed my meal, served by friendly staff - all who were working around a 'manager' who had commandeered a table for himself and was busy making doodle marks on a piece of paper. Somewhere during my meal one of the waitresses approached me to perfunctorily ask 'how was everything?' When I asked her how was it possible that the entire meal was nice and warm, except for the bacon, which was cold? The poor sweet girl wasn't prepared for this and said she'd get the manager. I watched as she moved back to the manager to speak with him. For whatever reason, he chose to ignore her. When I finished my meal I went up to the second employee at the till. 'How was everything?' she asked. Again, I asked the same question: how was it that whilst my meal was nice, the bacon was actually cold - almost below room temperature? The young girl called to the manager, who was now behind the counter, moving between the prep table and their cooler. Again, he ignored this employee as well. From a business perspective, I knew exactly what the problem was - the shop 'pre-cooks' the bacon, then when it's required they slap it on the griddle for a few seconds, ultimately serving up pre-cooked food, or what some may caustically describe as 'left-overs.'Nevertheless, it wasn't as much the issue of their practice of re-heating food, as much as it was the lackadaisical attitude of the manager, who from my first visit appears to be wholly disinterested in either his staff, or the professional presentation of the product. I must add, historically, 'attitude' was one of the contributing factors towards the demise of so many Wimpy franchises...which interestingly began at the advent of McDonald's arrival in the UK. Wimpy simply failed to support and promote their brand effectively. So as not to base my judgement one on a single visit, I chose a week later to visit the Wimpy shop again. I ordered the same thing but requested a 'small' original flavour Pepsi, but was told I could not have a 'small sugared' Pepsi: I'd have to order a 'regular.' My request was not price based, it was consumption based, yet it had to be either a larger product than I could ever consume, or nothing. (Or, perhaps I could have an aspartame sweetened drink, but not the sugared drink - I have no idea). Nevertheless, again, after ordering a mirror of the same meal, again the bacon was not only cold on the edges, the centre had been re-heated multiple times to the point it was leather. And for the second time I asked the young server why was the bacon cold when the rest of the meal was hot. He acknowledged what I already knew: 1 - they re-heat the bacon, and 2 - the manager doesn't appear to have much to do, as again, he was back in a corner, sitting at one of the tables, drawing 'something,' and filling in something between the lines, to keep himself entertained. They were lovely staff who were pleased to proudly serve - which is clearly

We stopped at lunchtime yesterday for a bite, very welcoming, served by a lovely young lady who was very helpful. Food was good and hot unlike some other places. They share tips which is nice.

Since reopening this was top of my list as use to visit weekly. Unfortunately it's not what it once was, food was ok but rather expensive in comparison to other such places. Repeatedly asked if the food was ok made wonder if there was something they weren't saying ?‍♂️. Overall it was alright but won't be returning ☹️

Average food for the type of restaurant. The staff are all very young and clearly have no desire to be there. No eye contact while serving and very blunt. The manager was very loud and cheerful but having a workers meeting at the counter while full of customers isn’t very professional. I wouldn’t want to be spoken to like he was talking to his staff. A real shame.

Came in on Tuesday 28th Feb. had burger chips for 2 (cheeseburger) onion rings to share a milkshake and a Pepsi. Girl that served us was sweet. But food was terrible. Luke warm chips . That were tasteless. Bland Burger. However milkshake was lovely. And onion rings ok. When it came to paying . It was just over £27.00. Expensive for fast bland food . I do t want to upset anyone or hurt their feelings. But disappointing.

Finally, a manager in an Eastbourne restaurant that actually cares!! We were greeted by a very chirpy, happy manager who had a great thought process for seating. Trying to keep space downstairs for wheelchair/buggy users. He has experience and it shows! The place was kept very clean. Service was always with a smile regardless of who served you. Great entertainment for the kids! Barely any wait times at all. Food was great. Very nostalgic! And the music only added to the nostalgic feel. All at lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon! Very impressed!Kid-friendliness: Great double sided board game handed to our child to entertain her whilst waiting for food. Manager engaged with her, was all round great!Wheelchair accessibility: A nice open space on ground level with disabled toilets downstairs too.

Really enjoyed it here , great to see wimpy back in Eastbourne, great to see young people getting a chance with what may be there very first proper job , my only gripe is hearing the manager get on at them in a loud fashion as to what they may have not done and not right. Would be a bit better to review that with them at the end of there shift because if someone did that to me in front of a restaurant full of people I would really find that a put down, portion size is a bit small considering the price tag here now but not a bad here
