Lovely pub with extensive seating inside and out. Easy to find off the main roads but in a quieter area so ideal for a relaxed lunch, dinner or drinks.Typical pub menu with good portions and friendly attentive service that isn't overpowering. Lunch menu for lighter options available, all reasonably priced.Toilets clean and nicely decorated.Would recommend and will book again for lunch or dinner for relaxed couple catch up or family events.

We ate here tonight a party of 4. Pub has nice decor, tables spaced nicely and looks very clean. Meals were all excellent, piping hot, tasty and well presented. Service was friendly and polite. Nice atmosphere, a nice bottle of wine and a very reasonable bill at the end. Highly recommend. The only negative in my opinion is they don’t have a wine list, not a problem for most I’m sure but for a wine drinker it’s nice to look at a choice on a list. very minor negative on a very positive experience.

Beautiful pub within 1.5 miles of Stansted Airport. Perfect place to end a family holiday with some fantastic pub grub.Lovely spacious garden, lots of parking, undercover and open air seating plus a nice pub on the inside ran by nice welcoming people and young efficient waiting staff.Would recommend to anyone.

Eight us visited for a 3pm late lunch on a Sunday and it was packed. Our service throughout our stay was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The choice of menu good and the food excellent. The pub is well kept and has a marque outside together with another outside area with tables and benches.

Nice pub. Lots of space and friendly staff. Portions were gracious and everything tasted great. I had the tomato basil soup to start and grilled haddock as a main. I traded out the potato for extra salad. Done with no hesitation.

This is a great venue for lunch or dinner with a wide range of choice. We all found the main course to be excellent. The desert menu is fairly standard but the quality is way below the main course which leads to a disappointing experience. Next time we’ll just stick with the main course..

Have been several times and always fine but last Sunday went at 4pm children running around the tables one child was next to our table crying and screaming with the parents not taking any notice only a grandfather trying to move the child . The fish I had was very nice but the potatoes I had was cold and you could tell they had been laying around a long time did not complain as we where with friends that had not been before and they said there meal was ok .if I had been on my own I would have complained. Will give it a miss for a time .

Not my first visit. Previous visits have been fine. Nice setting with standard pub food. This was the first experience with the chef/landlord. Had a lunch booking. Arrived a little early, pretty empty inside, half full outside. Offered a table inside with service or outside and we have to come to the bar. Sat outside and returned around 15 minutes later to order. Waited patiently whilst others are served and the chef/landlord steps beside the bar during this time, clearly busy. A lady tries to serve me, he cuts in aggressively from a distance telling me he's busy in the kitchen and I need to come back in 10 minutes to order. That's fine, but he carries on, clearly stressed. I haven't responded as I get he's stressed. He continues to rudely state that as I'm only a walk in and not a booking he has to prioritise bookings and won't get to me for a while. He finally stops. I politely tell him we are a booking that sat outside and are coming in to order. His response...it doesn't matter and makes no difference as he's busy and can't get more orders in the kitchen. We've gone from I'll only take your order if you're a booking, to it doesn't matter. At this point I kind of smiled in shock at what he's just said. Then he got more aggressive. At one point during all of this I'm told not to look at him like that and something about the world doesn't revolve around me - this part wasn't 100% clear as he was more agitated - before he storms off and heads straight to take the order of a table that came in a while after us but sat inside. We didn't stay after this. No one seemed to know what to do after he left. The staff all looked shocked and the lady who tried to serve us didn't continue. At no point did we complain, argue or raise our voices. He interrupted and spoke at us. He wasn't calm, polite or professional enough to suggest we order drinks for now or give a full order but recognise food will be delayed.

Great food, great service, great village pub! They were busy tonight but the staff work so hard to make sure everyone gets good service. The food is superb too!
