LIAR, DISHONEST, DISGRACEFULBooked it for a week. It was advertised for £140 (room) a week on Spareroom. The Lady called Sonila Hussain took the deposit of £50 (refundable) and a week's rent of £180 from me even though the room was advertised for £140 a week. The deposit was supposed to be returned after I left the property. I checked out after 3 nights. I requested a deposit back from her on numerous occasions. She never returned the deposit. She ignored my messages for requesting a deposit back. I requested her via Spare room (when I did not get a response or deposit from her) as well and she gave them the reason of keeping the deposit that the deposit was withheld due to a window damage in the property. SHE IS A LIAR. Absolutely DISGRACEFUL behaviour. Very DISHONEST lady. A disgraceful waste of my time and money. I am not happy about this at all.Don't waste your time and money with this room/hotel, just book Travelodge, DaysInn or PremierInn.

Went went there to find a place to stay for a week. And I got very scared with the place. Very awkward place and I very bad conditions. I left there straight. Not a hotel at all, pardon to the owners.

This is pretty much the bottom of the barrel and it's a deep barrel. The place is covered in a thick layer of grime. The rooms are past being in need of renovation and the clientele are quite unsavory. It's a place where if you weren't desperate you'd probably turn around and walk straight back out. Don't forget to wipe your feet as you leave. There are much better places in the area for the same or a little more.

The hotel Has quite nice rooms that are clean, there is a bar that isn't open also there is a closed restaurant? the rooms are with matching bed clothes to the floor a TV but no fridge. there Is a cooking facility but nobody to cook so if you go there then bring food and drinks with you as the closest shop is a good 15 minutes from the hotel

If you are a fan of the great Hitchcock film Psycho and would like to know what it would be like staying with Norman Bates, stay here. We were booked into the De Salis Hotel in Elsenham, which is a nice hotel, but upon arrival was told it was overbooked , so were sent to this place. As soon as we arrived we both got a horrendous ominous feeling about the place. We went in and instantly knew our instincts were wrong, it was much worse than we thought. We left immediately and as we got in the car we looked up at a window and, a mans face appeared, and I instantly thought of Norman Bates. DO NOT STAY HERE. 15 years ago it was a nice hotel. Just like the pictures. It isn’t anymore. You have been warned.

The condition we have lived in for less than 24hrs, I would not wish to anybody. There are drug-addicts using the premises. The police was called during our one night-stay as there was a woman “victim” screaming HELP ME SOMEBODY HELP ME. The place is dirty and with cockroaches. We didn’t have bedsheets in our bedroom for one of us, nor pillow or towels. I paid 76.63 pound for being in a horror movie. This is too much. And I can continue. There was a guy smoking crack whilst we were waiting for our cab. There was nobody at reception throughout our stay. All the doors were all unlocked so accessible all day long. No staff working outside the check in hours. All pictures advertised on booking.com are fake. There is no restaurant as sold in the ad so no way to get food. There was a spider web with a spider on top of the bed. There were hairs in the shower, therefore nobody touched the shower. The toilet was dirty with signs of faces. Shall I carry on? Oh I had to put my hand inside their safe like a thief as nobody was at reception at the time that we had requested the check in in advance. So I had to pull out the key from the safe letter box and auto -check in. STAY AWAY

We arrived and found the beer garden completely overgrown and the bar and restaurant closed down. The reception area was filthy so we decided immediately not to stay. No-one on reception you had to phone a mobile number scribbled on a scrap of paper and a dishevelled man appeared who put up no resistance to us not staying he just accepted that the place was filthy dirty and we left.

The hotel was wonderful I stayed here after my flight. The service was great it was such a friendly environment there, I have seen many reviews putting bad publicity to this hotel but in actual fact it was perfect and couldn’t be better. The staff was extremely I felt so happy to stay, there was free WiFi and the TV was great, and so was the spectacular food. The room was so cosy and homely I will definitely be here again!

I know this hotel is cheap to stay in but there's a reason for that... because it's absolutely awful. Like something out of a horror movie. We pulled into the car park and didn't want to get out of the car. The carpark looked like an old dumping ground. It was 6pm and outside stood 4 drunk people with pints and cigarettes in their hands right next to the hotel entrance. We shuffled past them and into a hotel reception area with no manned desks, horrible old sofas and chairs and a disused fruit machine. We rung the telephone number that was stuck to the desk and after 5 minutes a greasy haired man in a dirty tshirt showed us to our room. Which looked nice enough! Although we only had one cup between us to make coffee. The restaurant and every other facility was closed in the hotel so we went for dinner at a local bar. When we came back we were greeted by two huge spiders. I spent the night hiding my face under the covers. In the morning we made a quick exit, leaving our key on reception. There was yet again no one around to attend to us. By far the worst, scruffiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Cant see how it's still running to be honest with you.

A room here is cheap, but even so there are some things that could be better for relatively little expense to the hotel. I arrived around midnight and the front door to the hotel was not locked, nor is there anyone sitting at the front desk. You have to telephone for them to come and meet you. In a relatively quiet and badly lit area you can't help feel a little unsafe. The bar area is very depressing, just a sign on a metal shutter stating the bar is permanently closed (along with the restaurant next door) A few sad chairs and a fruit machine make this worse. Outside is a bit of a dumping ground, just rubbish and junk laying around the perimeter of the building. I can't fault the cleanliness of the room, overall it was fine, the sheets looked clean. Etc. VERY basic and dated but that shouldn't effect the review for the price. My advice to hotel is to just put a little time into cleaning up the outside of the hotel and the bar area. Look at securing the front door, maybe have a buzzer so someone on reception can let guests in etc. If not then eventually even the guests that just book because it's cheap and close to the airport will stop turning up.

I didn’t expect much for the amount I paid, but expected I didn’t a bit more than this! No bar, no restaurant, no one at the desk to give me my key! A basic room that was OK for one night, but again no remote for TV, no free WiFi as advert suggests, no milk for a drink, no lock on the door! I won’t be returning and would rather have paid an extra few quid to stay somewhere less intimidating and run down!

Not nearly as bad as reviews on here make out. Was the best value/price we could find, and very close by the airport. We left our car for 4 days and stayed one night the 5th day, no bother there at all. When we arrived, I was a little unsure, seeing the lobby and hallways (a tad worn) but the room itself was good and clean, and very spacious and cosy. I even checked sealant around bath, dust across the top of things etc. and couldn't knock anything. It was a little strange that we didn't actually see a single other soul the while time we were there, nobody at the front desk, didn't see anybody walking around; but we were left our room key with a little note for when we got there with directions and so on. Some people may be turned off by this, but it didn't really bother us. Make what you will of it, it did what it was there for for us, and was pleasant all in all.

I stayed here with family members to attend a wedding the following day and had a pleasant stay. Our rooms were clean, nice and warm and the cleaner and receptionist were more than happy to help with any request eg. More towels, ironing board, anything we needed I have read some of the reviews that have been left for this hotel and it is no longer offering a bar or restaurant service, so the issues of 'smells or drunk people' were not witnessed by us. We were so comfortable that we booked another night during our stay. This hotel is reasonably priced and you get what you pay for, ideal for a stop off, somewhere to rest, if you are looking for something spectacular and expect a high standard hotel, then you may want to pay more for a different hotel, this hotel offers what is needed for a comfortable stay for a good price. Will definitely stay again
