Usually reasonable priced Sunday Roast but went for Mother's Day meal and same, maybe not so well cooked food but double the price. £32 a head for very substandard meal.

One of the worst pubs ever been to specially on a Friday and Saturday nights

First time there, great place, good beer, good service friendly people. Next time will have a roast as they looked great. Will be really good in summer time.

A lovely pub with really good food and a great atmosphere! There was also festive themed live entertainment provided by the very talented singer Chris Baker! A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Went here a few weeks ago as we have been looking at pubs in the area to have a monthly meeting. Toilet was filthy complained about a dirty glass and was confronted by the owner called Mel who has to be the vilest rudest person on the planet. Left our drinks and went. Such a shame as the building is is wonderful and looks really inviting.

Had really mixed reviews of the Woolpack. First time I went the food was excellent (although the dog that lives there did pee on my jacket)… I then returned in summer with my family and had the most indescribably horrible kebab of my life. There are some odd people that go this pub a lot and there seems to be rife drug use

The landlady was really accommodating, I rang in advance to let her know we had some elderly relatives with us and she was really helpful about putting us in the most accessible place in the pub.The Sunday roast was all delicious. Enormous portions! Kids under 10 eat free. The waiting staff were all friendly and polite. It was a very pleasant cosy atmosphere and not too noisy (we came early lunchtime), so the elderlies could hear each other! All in all a very good experience.Vegetarian options: Not an obvious veggie roast option, but may have provided one on request.Parking: Gravel car park next to pub.Kid-friendliness: Kids ate for free and there were drink options for kids.

Stayed overnight but didn’t use for food or drink. Lovely room, only negative was no robes supplied. Also there is no cooked breakfast option but a generous cold option is supplied in room.

Lovely gem of a pub in a perfect location. Was looking for somewhere to eat for Sunday lunch last minute with family and came across this place. So glad we did. Such a lovely building steeped with history, was very cosy and traditional inside, complete with a fire. The staff were really lovely and welcoming, and even the locals were really friendly. And bonus that dogs are welcome. We all had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Probably one of the best Sunday lunches we've all had. The food was to a great standard, including for two vegetarians, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We're all planning to come back again soon and look forward to it. Will definitely be recommending to others too!Vegetarian options: Great options, all tasty

What a fantastic pub! Giving four stars as all the hand pumps were off which was a pity but... staff were great and actually appeared to enjoy working here. The building is an absolute gem and the outside areas are nicely planted. The locals were friendly and there's happy hour 7 days a week from 5pm. On the downside we live 50 odd miles away or this would become my local.

Great pub in lovely Coggeshall! Went for a few drinks and Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint, also loved the beer garden. Can’t wait to return

Just had Sunday dinner here and it was idyllic. Beautiful venue, great staff and service. I went for the roast beef, thick sliced, tender, slightly pink....perfection:)
