We have been coming here for a few years now but unfortunately today was extremely disappointing. The spaghetti bolognese was such a let down. Asked if the recipe had changed and was told no, but I eat this oftern and it was unpleasant. The folded garlic bread was fine but slightly over cooked. The waitress offered no apology even when we said it didn't taste nice, just took the bowls and walked off. Shame as we won't be retuning now.

We often visit branches of Ask Italian, and today we had a lovely experience that was worthy of a review! The manager Alex and her team were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was prepared efficiently and was very tasty. The chefs were able to accommodate our requests for additions and changes to our food with no problems. We would definitely recommend this branch of Ask Italian. Thank you Alex and your lovely team of staff.

This was our first visit to this branch of ASK and we were impressed with the decor, music and general ambience as some we have been to are way too loud! Service was very attentive, it was a quiet lunch time and food was fresh and served quickly! Arancini were ok not the best we’ve had a little soft but they were still nice enough, lasagne bites a little unusual and not instantly recognisable as lasagne, but ok. Calzone was really good, lovely dough and plenty of filling! Would definitely visit again!

Pleasent atmosphere and lovely service.Awful and small portions food. We kinda likes the starters which was salad and frozen calamari tbh, so nothing hard to cook there. Pizza was as thin as a newspaper and burnt, it seems big but it isn't really. My carbonara was the worst I ever had and it's my to go dish in every Italian restaurant. The pasta was as soft as it was made for someone without teeth. I requested another one and the waitress kindly offered me another me one. Second pasta was the same overcooked, underseasoned(cook must have never heard of salt), pancetta was raw that I could literally chew on it for hours. Paid 70 pounds just for 1 nice cocktail and some starters. My husband forced himself with the pizza as he was very hungry, I had less than half of the already small portion pasta. Avoid wasting your money.

Eating in is okay and the food and pizza is good if it is quiet in the restaurant . However don’t make the mistake of ordering Deliveroo from here . The pasta was clearly day old , thrown in the microwave and dry as a bone and the chips were stone cold. The food also took an hour and a half to arrive !

Very disappointed in service. Wanted to have a nice dinner but we had to leave as we were told that all chef’s are on brake and so we gonna have to wait for food for 2 hours. And it’s Friday evening. Manager was very rude , we felt very uncomfortable.

I’ve never walked out a restaurant before and I’ve been to many!The food was awful, no pasta of choice even the ones stated on the menu.When the food arrived all with same pasta it was cold and hardly any sauce, sent it back and it was microwaved so any sauce that was on there disappeared!We apologised to the very lovely staff, they couldn’t do enough and left!!!Now sitting in another relieved we left !

Extremely terrible managers at the Lakeside branch.Had a terrible experience with managers of the Lakeside branch on Sat 25th Nov at about 4.40pm. I went in with my family of four and the restaurant was almost empty with only 6 people max. One of the manager's, Nicola asked us if we made a booking online otherwise we could not be sitted with a rude tone. We responded it was almost empty, then she hit us with the truth saying there is only one chef that afternoon and too much for the chef. We went online and realised the restaurant does not require a mandatory booking. The other female manager came and noted the same thing. She also refused to give me her name when I politely asked to report my experience to customer service. She declined and said she is not obliged to provide her name. It is totally out of other and strongly feel there were being lazy, u bothered and lacked customer focus. These managers will run the business to the ground as they only care about their wages and not the customers or the business.No wonder it was the only restaurant with 6 customers and almost empty at the time of the day when others were extremely busy..Ask italia should investigate this to avoid more negative customer experience.
