The staff were lovely and the milkshake was amazing!! Would recommend their hot shakes any day, they are lovely on a cold day. Would definitely take my family and friends here!!!

If you could give this place minus then that’s the way it would be! I really don’t know how a shop like this is still running based on the reviews but I’m not one to judge on reviews! I went down there yesterday to try one of the shakes…. I was greeted by a young woman who had a stinking attitude who looked like she couldn’t be bothered to her job. Once the shake was served I took it back to the car to enjoy. Little did I know the smell of it like the milk was 3 months out of date half of the ingredients was barely blended! I should have walked away before ordering after seeing how dirty the shop was! I phoned the shop to speak to the manager to be told “ we don’t have a manager in the store currently” only a supervisor who weren’t worth speaking to ! I really don’t know how a business can run like this i definitely would never recommend this shop unless you want to be off work and certainly don’t take your kids there!!!

Well where do I start, first things first customer service skills from the staff is beyond a joke. It took ages for them to acknowledge I was even there and then when they finally did it’s like they couldn’t be bothered to do their job. Secondly I need to clarify that I am very disappointed with how the milkshake turned out. I can’t believe what I tasted. I’m sure they used gone off milk which left the milkshake tasting very sour and absolutely dreadful. After one sip I was a bit unsure so I tried a second sip and have now been left with a bad stomach for the past 3 days. When approaching the shop about said matter they did not want to help or even attempt to apologise. Utterly disgusted with shakesway especially after the astonishing prices we pay for the milkshake. My advice to anybody would be to avoid this place as I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience what I have. Trading standards are going to be contacted about the hygiene issues.

This place is nasty and should be shut down asap! I ordered a Dave and a large Janet. Whilst waiting for the drink to be made, it became apparent that the customer service is extremely poor - these guys are money hungry!I noticed that a guy had ordered a dime milkshake, when his order was ready, the server shouted "dime milkshake" - 2 minutes later another server shouted to this customer - did you pay for a large - the guy said no. The server asked for the guy to pay extra for it and said he shouldn't have taken the drink. Barely in mind the initial server didn't mention what size of the drink it was when she called out.That was off putting but then when I got my order I pulled my lid off as it was easier to drink without a straw but to my surprise I found the ring from the milk carton in my cup!Honestly, it's disgusting and it shows how poorly the place is run. I hope something is done about this place asap!

The worst milkshake I’ve ever had. I ordered the Barbara and Dave for my husband. It tasted like frothy milk. As I was watching them blend the milkshake.. I wanted to jump over and stop the blender. It just kept going and and going and going. Honestly could say it went on for a good 5 minutes. Who blends a milkshake for 5 minutes? It was busy yes. Making so many milkshakes at the same time with only two staff is not a good idea. After two sips, we both had to bin ours and buy another one from another shop a little further down. That was miiiiiiiiles tastier. How they have customers, I don’t know.
Visit shakeaway a few times a week and every time the staff are always very friendly, beau always goes above and beyond with his customer service! The shakes are always a 10/10!

Purchase 2 large milkshakes from lakeside which cost £14.00. The lady asked me if we wanted whipped cream on top and I said yes but no mention that this was extra. The price advertised was £6.49 each so I queried why £14? I was told it was the whipped cream. Also she did not put whipped cream on my daughters shake to which I made her add it. The shakes were nothing special and quite sickly. Needless to say I will stick with McDonald’s opposite as their milkshakes much tastier and fraction of price! Also appalled by sneaky upsell and bad attitude of staff.

Today I visited the Shakeaway store in Lakeside,Thurrock at approx 11.20 (on 04/09/22) I ordered a white toblerone and white kinder bueno shake. Once ready the girl behind the counter passed me my drink, but when I picked up the cup I saw that there was a red liquid over the cup, lid and straw. I asked if I could have another lid and straw as it was visibly dirty. The girl replied ‘it’s just from my gloves’ and changed the lid and straw. When I was handed the cup again I noticed there was still red on the straw and lid. Again I stated to the girl that it was still dirty and could I possibly have a clean lid and straw. The girl proceeded to say ‘ it’s just my gloves’ not stating what was on her blue gloves. When I stated that regardless of whether it came off her gloves it was still giving me a dirty straw and lid. The girl eye rolled at us ripped off her gloves and reluctantly changed the lid and straw (not once did I ask for a complete new drink just a change of lid and straw) before she slammed it down on the counter and extremely sarcastically said ‘have a good day’. I am utterly appalled at this attitude and customer service and pure lack of food hygiene. We’re still not sure what the red liquid was , blood? Fruit? She never stated but regardless of what it was her reaction and attitude was appalling.
