Understaffed, under pressure and it shows. Challenged if I’d booked a table at the attached beefeater, I only wanted a drink, bar staff were rude and stressed. Watched an elderly couple (one who used a stick) shown the door as they were classed as ‘walk ins’. Clearly not the staffs fault, as they were visibly struggling and I have to say that to me the bar/restaurant didn’t seem to be maxed out. Despite arriving after 3pm had to wait 45 minutes for a preferred room. The above aside, put upon staff, the room was still of a great standard. Hotel staff (lady) was helpful but again was equally under pressure. Best free internet I’ve had at a premier inn in ages.

Attended the Harwich premier Inn after along journey and long day at work. I was pleasantly greeted by hotel staff who more than happy to accommodate me at reception. Rooms were clean and tidy I slept like a baby. Would recommend highly.

Bedroom window had been left open for us at check in, however when we entered our room it was smelly, i looked out of the window which led on to a flat roof as we were in room 114, on the roof was beer cans other rubbish and decaying food including boxes of unopened eggs. We had to close the window due to the smell and it then made the room hot, after then trying to cool the room we were told that the room a/c was there to heat the room and not cool it.

My wife and I stayed at the Premier Inn in Harwich ahead of going to Europe on the Stena Line ferry. It is very close to the terminal and as usual with Premier Inns, it was what we expected. The free parking was a bonus.

Perfectly located for Harwich ferry services.Literally under 5 minutes to check in for the ferry.Rooms are clean and tidy. USB socket next to the bed for charging. There is a restaurant on site and a McD's drive in next door.I will stay again. Recommended

Hotel clean and comfortable, staff lovely, could do with a refurbishment. Rooms were very hot even when the temperature outside wasn’t high added to zero air-con, it could be unbearable. What let’s the place down even more is the food in the affiliated restaurant; Brewers Fare, breakfast was inedible, under cooked and tasted off. We cancelled our second night because of this.

Cheap beds not very comfortable, but the duvet they supply are very very thick way too hot for the season plus they don't have any air con. Also shower is more like a dribble.Location is very good for the ferry however.

An Ideal place to stay before catching the ferry as only 5 minutes away from the port. The room was quite, and large , the food was very good and a very helpful and friendly staff in the hotel and restaurant.

I cannot give high enough praise for the professional, kind, polite staff who went above and beyond to help me during my stay. From the lovely greeting (much appreciated after driving for 4 hours), beautiful spotlessly clean room, hot shower !!!, quiet, calm atmosphere. In The Mayflower that evening I had a hot, tasty meal and then a huge comfy bed and a good, quiet nights sleep. All the ameneties were available in my room and after I had collected my passengers from the ferry terminal nearby we had a tasty big breakfast at the Mayflower. Thanks you so much for your support and true kindness to myself and my guests. Lunch was amazing and then we began our 4 hour drive home very refreshed and much clamer. Sincere thank you. Edwina

I cannot praise all the staff enough. Professional, a kind greeting on arrival (after a 4 hour car journey, much appreciated). My room was spotlessly clean, huge comfy bed, hot shower (especially appreciated), clean bathroom. Supper in the Mayflower was hot, tasty and very reasonably priced. Quiet room allowed a great nights sleep, before collecting my guests off the Ferry very close by. We came back for a hot, fresh breakfast which was excellent. The reception staff, went above and beyond to help with a personal problem that had arisen. Giving us her support and knowledge in a truly professional way. Special mention to the Manager of the Mayflower who so kindly looked after us too. We left refreshed, and ready for the 4 hour drive home to Chesterfield. A huge thank you to all the staff. Very well done.

Very pleasant stay, before taking the morning ferry to the Netherlands. Food decent and not too costly; the room clean and quiet... so managed to sleep well in a strange bed which is rather a rarity for me.

Great stay here, very useful for the ferry to Holland. Great for cyclists, they gave us a ground floor room which allowed us to wheel the bikes into the room. As always, the room was perfect. Great meal in the restaurant and an excellent buffet continental breakfast before cycling off. Staff very friendly and helpful both at check in and in the restaurant. We're back again soon when we will be using the ferry to the continent. We've used many Premier Inns on cycling trips and, so far, they have all been excellent and have all allowed the bikes in the room.

As always Premier Inn didn't disappoint. We received a warm welcome and our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It's located close to the ferry port for travel to The Netherlands with ample free parking. There are two supermarkets close by with a Morrison's petrol station, useful for our return trip. There is also a Brewer's Fayre restaurant adjacent. We booked early for £35 per night which was excellent value for money.

When you check in, make sure you ask them to double check your room before you go in cus you might find a nasty surprise in your toilet. I think that says more than enough about why I gave this one star. Absolutely, never again. What a crappy ? start to my weekend getaway...

Had a beautiful stay over the weekend at Harwich. The staff were nothing but welcoming and friendly, I was checked in by a lovely receptionist called Rae who went above and beyond for me and my partner. Then on check out we was greeted by becky, she was again nothing but friendly and seemed to honestly care about how are stay was and how we found everything in the hotel. The staff here are really make you feel at home and welcomed, nothing was too big or small for them. The rooms were clean and everything we ask for when staying in a premier inn, you can tell they have put attention into the details to make the rooms feel and look so clean! Was a lovely stay and me and my partner will definitely be back!
