I took my lady here to celebrate St. Valentines Day. Excellent service and food. The ale was good, and the decor for the occasion was tasteful.

Great place to eat with really good food. They do some fun themed nights and I have never had a bad experience there.

Excellent decor, good ambience and super service. Rather large portions - not a criticism - and a decent selection of vegetarian starters. Lucky for us they serve food all day: fabulous!Vegetarian options: Not enough choice for main course but good options for starters.

Not sure if we went on a bad day but the food was very underwhelming. Overcooked dry burgers and our table had four burger meals, frozen chips - for the price point I would have expected home made chips/fries - both others meals were the wellington and chicken supreme which were both dry and not fresh. It's a shame as most of the staff were pleasant enough and the venue itself has charm. For the quality of ingredients used it was very expensive!! Probably get the same quality food from the run of the mill pub up the road at a fraction of the price. Given two stars because the main reason you would come here is the food and it just wasn't on par the day we visited. We also didn't have a check back to ask if food was okay, if we did we would have said something.

A large family gathering at the William B where we had the six course tasting menu. Staff were friendly and really accommodating. Whilst the canapes section of the six course tasting menu was 'a canapé' per person, it was nevertheless tasty. Overall food was good value for money. The starter (calamari, goats cheese salad or chicken pate) without the canapé and amuse bouche would be a stingy portion, but as part of the six course tasting menu it was fine. The sea bass main was a particular highlight - really tasty and everyone who had it enjoyed it. I bought this via Groupon online - offer for 4 people x3 and when speaking to the staff on the phone they were happy to accommodate merging tables together no problem. Lovely cosy ambience, not far off the A12, excellent service from staff and great value for money.

Friendly staff, excellent food and service. What more could you want? Perhaps towards the expensive end of reasonable, but reasonable none the less. Could have done without the Christmas music!Parking: They have their own carpark.

The staff were great and although I require gluten free and error in my dessert not being they were quick to identify this and re-correct swiftly so can and will not fault or mark them down. Well done all day of you. The chef is amazing ?
